On one of my many trips out of IAH (Houston Intercontinental Airport) a TSA Agent was suspicious of my portable hard drive. (Which is understandable) While searching my Computer Case, he took out my Nicostick, and asked what it was. I told him it was a homemade e-cig. He told me there was no problem with it, but he would have to swab it. He rubbed the pad on my e-cig stuff, and it was obvious that the pad had picked up a lot of juice residue. The machine beeped an OK, and he said "That's it, you're finished" I packed up my stuff and went to my gate.
So if you're wondering, the answer is NO. E-juice will NOT set off the explosives alarm on the swabbing equipment. There are no chemical properties in e-juice that will cause an alarm in security.
