First let me thank everyone for the information I've gleaned from your posts. As a complete newbie, I can see there is so much to learn.

I decided to start with (and just received 2 days ago) the KR808D-1 starter kit. It came with 2 batts (auto), 5 carts (Marlboro flavor 16mg), USB charger, and a 10ml bottle of "juice" (I chose rum flavor). The bonus juice came with a cart that was pre-filled. I only know it was pre-filled, 'cause the first thing I did was tear it open and try to fill it. Must be that urge that some guys (me) get to curiously see what makes things tick.

Anyway, after 2 drops, there was a standing pool of liquid on top of the cotton. And when I sucked on it there was definately "gurgling". I'm guessing this means overfill.
I blasted out the excess from the battery end onto a paper towel and let it sit mouthpiece side up overnight. Thanks to your informative posts, I learned "don't get liquid in the batt". I'm using it today and I love the rum flavor. What a cool toy! Vaping inside beats the heck out of going outside (it's 5 degrees above zero outside) for an analog.

I will be especially looking for other KR808D-1 users to learn from them. For instance: How will I know when the cart is used up before burning it up? I know it would have to do with how much I use it, but I've seen some people say they go through 3 carts/day and some that get 2 days per cart.

There is an obvious learning curve. And I am always curious (it's a norwegian thing. Can't do anything about it.). Google was made with me in mind.

Like you, I just started as well. Everyone here is really nice and helpful. I started with the Joye 510, so I can't help you out with your question, but I'm sure someone here can. ^_~

It has been my experience that when a cart starts to get dry, vapor production will drop and a more harsh often hotter taste will occur. Just be especially careful with this when using a cartomizer, these were made and intended to be one time use disposable atomizers. Though they can be refilled and used more than once. If they are allowed to run dry, they may start to burn the filler. I have never tried one of these cartomizers, but I have seen pictures of ones that this was allowed to happen.
Refilling the cartomizers is not an easy a task as it is with conventional atomizer carts. so I would suggest carrying extra prefilled carts with you, and change them out when you first suspect it may be getting low.
Others have also suggested, leaving them sit standing up over night after refilling, to allow the liquid to fully saturate. And always drip your liquid down the sides and not down the middle when refilling. You can also refill these by dripping the liquid down through the battery connector end. And try not to over fill them. Like I said, I have never tried one of these types, but I would think, and others may correct me on this, using a syringe to refill may speed up the process.

I saw some very informative videos on You Tube that actually demonstrate, visually, about how to refill. That's how I learned. I like the 2 piece because it seems less technical (Norwegian, remember). I saw one video where a guy shows off a whole tackle box of liquids and accessories. Trying to avoid that. Sure! I say that now.
