Default Hello

Hello I'm new to the forums, and I just got my new ecig today and all I have to say is that this thing is amazing. I wouldn't say I'm a heavy smoker but i usually smoke about 1-3 cigs a day if any at all since I'm only 19 and havent been smoking long, and i got reffed to these by my lieutenant from ROTC in my university so that i wont screw up my lungs when I run and they exceeded my expectations(510 Vapor King model Vapor King Starter Kit Black [VK] - $54.95 : Electronic Cigarettes Inc. Shopping)

I only have one question I normally smoke Marlboro lights, what e liquid would taste the most like them?

Nice to meet everyone

Welcome!

I need to be perfectly honest with you. I am glad you made the switch, but I would much prefer to see you quit smoking than anything else.

Why do I say this? Because you are 19 and only smoke 1-3 per day. IMHO it should be something relatively easy to give up compared to 1-1.5 packs a day for 40 years. I started on a few a day as well, 40 years ago. Now I have a metal tube in my mouth

Thank you for the concern, but the reason i switched wasn't because I'm worried about a shorter life, its because it reduces my running capabilities, truthfully I don't plan to live over 50 and willing to give my life in a moments notice in battle. I appreciate the concern though

Welcome to the Forum Netruic;

Rick is right about giving it up. I'll leave it at that.

On the flavor issue;
I recommend you steer away from the tobacco flavors. I also smoked 2 packs a day for over 40 years. By finding a flavor besides tobacco, the e-cig got me further away from cigarettes. I decided long ago, that if I can quit effectively, I have to get as far away from tobacco as possible. It's working for me.

Don't kid yourself. I had the same attitude when I was your age. I came close to biting the big one a couple of times, but I'm still here. I just turned 60, a great wife, 2 boys, 4 grand kids. Life is good. Plan on being in it for the long run.

I tell people now, "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself"

I have tried them all and I never found any liquid that tasted like a cigerette .Once I accepted the fact that vaping was vaping and smoking was smoking I found some flavors that proved to be an acceptable alternative.Now I have managed to beat my addiction to nicotine after trying quite a few methods ,vaping is the only thing that worked for me.I think that is the concern about you taking up vaping that you gain an addiction and that it is not a very good thing to have something so small and insignificant ruling your life and causing so much grief ,we all appreciate the fact you are an adult and are begining a life of service to our country and we cannot thank you enough for that.

Welcome Netruic,

I must agree with Rick and Jim, at only a few cigarettes a day, you should just quit. But if you insist on continuing to smoke, at least you went electronic.

That particular Vapor King looks like a 510 model. Whether it is a true Joye 510, or one of the many 510 knock offs that are now available, I do not know. Regardless, just to let you know, true Joye 510 kits can be had for much more reasonable prices. It looks like you paid $54.95 for a kit with only one battery and one atomizer, while most suppliers sell starter kits with two complete e-cigs for the same price.
Don't worry about it, just chalk it up as an initiation fee.
Just shop around for better deals in the future when more supplies are needed.
If it is a true Joye 510, I would recommend getting a few spare batteries and some extra attys to have on hand. Joye 510s are the Porsches of e-cigs, and as a result they use up batteries fairly fast.
Nothing worse than having to wait on a single battery to recharge before you can vape again.
Me, I have drawers full of batteries and atomizers, and around a dozen or so chargers.

Edit:
Netruic,
As far as tobacco flavors go, this is all I use, but you will not find anything that actually tastes like tobacco or cigarettes. I use tobacco type flavors only because they are the only flavors I can tolerate on a day in day out basis. They are my daily vape, while other more food or candy related flavors are for me, a nice treat on occasion, I find I tire of them rather quickly.

I appreciate your candour. Once upon a time I thought like you, that would be 35 years ago, I turn 54 in June. I am a retired vet with 32.5 years behind me. But I am still around and kicking.

although im not planning to quit anytime soon, im going to steer clear from regular cigarettes and use ecigs from now on, and maybe eventually just use the 0 nicotine juice
