Congratulations guys, for making yet another milestone in being analog free.
I remember at first counting off the hours, then the days, then the weeks, now I am counting the years and am working on my 3rd year of being smoke free.
When I first quit smoking, I was trying to go cold turkey. I was about half mad with nicotine withdrawals when my wife, Lil Queen called me in to the office to show me a new product online. What I saw was something that looked like a picture of a cigarette. Needless to say, I nearly blew my lid when I saw that, and in doing so, I did what I rarely ever do, lost my cool and yelled at her. "HOW DARE YOU SHOW ME A CIGARETTE WHEN YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR ME RIGHT NOW!" She then tried to explain to me what it was, and that if she too was to quit she could not do it cold turkey. I heard what she said but at the same time left the room in a huff and did not speak of it again that day.
Well, the next day I began to start thinking about what she had said, in needing something to help her to quit. So, with my wife in mind, I mustard up the courage to go online and do some research on what this thing was she had tried to show me. After many hours of researching it, I found that I could also get this new thing called an electronic cigarette with no nicotine. So with enough information in hand to feel that this qizmo just might be worth a try, I placed an order for two starter kits, and also a variety of e-liquids in both high nic for her and no nic for me.
A few days later, the kits came in the mail, and I being now more than a week cold turkey, was very apprehensive in opening the package, as the monkey was still very much on my back. So, I took a deep breath and reminded myself I was doing this for my wife and opened the box, placed the batteries on the chargers and then proceeded to read the owners manual that appeared to have been written in poor broken English. Obviously written by a Chinese who did not have a commanding knowledge of the English language, still I made out the intent of this small little manual.
Once charged, I filled one cart with high nic for my wife and one with no nic for myself.
For me, my first drags on it were without inhaling. Which reminded me and made me feel as when I was a kid and had stolen a few cigarettes from my father, and hiding behind the garage with a friend, puffing nervously on the cigarettes only not inhaling, and feeling a rush of both fear and excitement brought on by doing something which I knew was wrong.
Needless to say, after a few nervous puffs, I gathered the courage to try an inhaled drag, and that my friends is the rest of the story.
