the Amen!
After a week or so of not smoking and only vaping, I found that the smell of cigarettes became appalling. I tried only once after quitting cigarettes, taking a single drag off one and it was so nasty I almost gagged.
Still even though I no longer smoke and haven't touched one in ages, I have empathy for those who still smoke, and I never remark about it to them. Even thought I can't stand to be around it, I tolerate it as best I can, and I remind myself that I too used to smell like a dirty ash tray.
For me, my taste buds returned after they healed from decades of abuse from smoking. My sense of smell also returned, which also plays a big part in taste sensation. Along with these healing senses, I also noticed an increase in appetite, but I feel this was due to the fact that I could now smell what was cooking, and I liked it. But I never gained any weight as I did not allow myself to over eat. In time I became reacquainted with my two lost senses and no longer feel over whelmed with desire for what I can taste or smell.
