Default Vegetable Glycerine?

I'd like to try some but I can't find any anywhere. I read the version 6 troubleshooting guide that mentions WalMart brand and CVS brand... and I was looked at like an Alien when I went to both places and asked about Vegetable glycerine.

What's the best place to get it from? Online? Can anyone post a picture of the bottles (WM or CVS) so I at least know what I'm looking for?

At Walmart all I have been able to find is the 6 oz. bottles from Humco.
This can be found in the skin care section. It is only labelad as glycerin 99.5% pure USP grade, not vegaetable glycerine. I have read where some contend that it has made them feel sick. I have been using it to blend and mix with for nearly a year now and have never had any problems as others claim.

For vegetable glycerin, Now foods and Wilton are popular labels. They are usually found in the crafts or cake/baking goods areas in grocery stores or bakeries. Online, Lorannoils.com is good source for such items.

Here is a link to the Humco brand sold at Walmarts.

I ran into the same issues with local stores regarding identifying what was "proper" to use for vegetable glycerin.

I finally gave up trying to figure it all out and just ordered online for some LorAnn's VG (vegetable, not just glycerin), from a bakeware shop in Canada and have had ZERO issues with its use.

I definately prefer VG over PG for taste, thickness, and use with 5v mods as well as 3.7v.

Good luck with your search !

Also, it would be very helpful if you & others would fill out your locations in your profile to aid in giving relevant info geared towards your area (even if it were only stating the State or Country).

Greg

I get mine from CVS. Even the Pahrmists don't know what I'm talking about, but they have it. In most CVS stores, it's in the Cosmetics Section, Skin Care Isle, and on the bottom shelf.

Yep, at our Walmart, it too is on the bottom shelf, in the skin/hand care section, close to the pharmacy. It was at first really hard to find, and I had just about gave up when it finally caught my eye.
Note: It is not where the hand lotions are as I would have suspected when someone said skin care.

Cadyr;
You'll have to let me know which one. (and your real name) You can PM it if you'd like. Next time I'm in town, I'll try to stop in for a Howdy.

I get my VG from Hobby Lobby, in the cake making section. Not sure but must be used for frosting or something.
I order PG from CVS and Walgreens, I was asked once what its for in CVS and told them its for homemade cold remedies.

VG is commonly used in baking. If you've ever seen those pie & tart shells filled with fresh fruit with the glossy coating on top, that glossy coating is VG.
