I just recieved the e cig gold and my wifes worked fine but mine did not. The only thing it does is it remains lightly lit at the tip constantly. I charged it for eight hours before using so that is not the problem. HELP

Hmmm, You may have a stuck switch. If you are talking about the SE gold, I believe this to be an RN-4081 super mini.
Try lightly tapping you battery LED end on a table or other like surface. You can also try blowing throw the battery from the LED end. The LED should only come on when drawing on it, or blowing through it from the LED end, and go off when you stop.
Make sure you don't use too much e-liquid if you are filling the cart yourself, or dripping. This can flood the battery and short the switch.

There are others here more experienced with this particular model. Perhaps some will ring in on this shortly.

Royal is right. Your SE Gold is a Model RN4081. If it's an SE, you probably spent a lot on it, but there is good news. RN4081 parts are among the least expensive when ordering online.

Royal pretty much covered your battery problem. You're probably best to return the battery for exchange if his suggestions don't work. After you get the battery issue straightened out, say goodbye to SE. They're over priced, and have the worst Customer Service on the planet.

I'm going to make you a "to do" list with my recommendations.

1.) Update your profile with your location. That's the first thing I looked for. If you happen to be within driving distance to me, I have spare parts & juice to keep you going through any problems. (Others here would do the same thing.)

2.) Download the troubleshooting guide. The link is in my sig.

3.) Order e-juice, if you haven't already. Cartridges won't last, and are expensive. Juice will give you the hit, flavor, and economy you'll need for vaping.

4.) Don't be shy. Ask away, if you have questions. We also have a chat section that would be useful for 1 on 1 troubleshooting.

5.) We have specific Forums for most Models. There is more information in the 4081 Forum at; RN-4081 Super Mini Reviews - e-Smokers-forum.com · e-Cigarette and e-Smoking discussions

The 4081 is my favorite. I have others, but tend to stray back to the 4081. Others hate it, so you'll get a variety of opinions.

On the 4081...do you drop a drop of smoke juice on the atomizer too? I am kind of confused! I followed you over here from the other forum Jim since you seem to know alot about 4081's. I have only been vaping since last Friday and I keep coming up with questions!
( I think I am refering to the bridge?)

And what is the difference between a cartomizer and an atomizer.....the more I read the more confused I get! I bought a pkg of filled cartridges but I want to learn how to fill them!

Filling them is easy. Instead of me going into a long explanation, go to the Library and download the Troubleshooting Guide. There are pictured instructions on how to refill a cartridge, and lucky for you, I used a 4081 cartridge for the pictures.

I sitting right now vaping on a passthrough with a 4081 atty and cart. I drop liquid on the fiber until it gets "glassy" on the surface. Then I drop TWO drops on the mesh bridge in the atomizer, and vape what's left of my brains out. I'm using a strong menthol mixture, and the throat hit is awsome.

I stay put here now. There are amazing folks here, and a lot of experience. We're a close little family. I hope you stick around for awhile and check out all the good and well organized information. Our Suppliers here have some good prices too.

Thanks for the welcome! Whew....I thought maybe I did something wrong by putting a drop of juice on the bridge!

I like my 4081 but when I read in some other forums they don't seem to think much of them and I sometimes second guess my purchase. However I was close to a pack of analogs a day and since last Friday I am down to 1/2....I can't believe it and neither can my husband! (1/2 analog....not pack! I can't seem to tolerate the analogs!)

We're all here to help. Here at ESF we feel that any e-cig can be made to work. It just takes a little TLC. No one here will tell anyone that they bought a piece of junk. We'll help you get it working, and you can make your own decision if you want to stick with it, or buy another model.

I will suggest that if you look into another model, you put your 4081 away for back-up. You may need to fall back on it temporarily if something goes wrong. Sort of like a spare tire in your car.

You may have paid a lot for your e-cig, but 4081 parts are very inexpensive.

My 4081 has an automatic switch.....can I get a manual switch for my 4081? It also has the open battery.....(hole in center) do they make the closed battery for it?

I got my kit through AquaVapor so I don't know if I got ripped or not LOL....I paid 69.95 for the bundle (supposedly it was on sale ...originally 89.95)

I read alot where you suggested about filling and I grasped that...however, cleaning the 4081 atomizer....you can soak it if I am reading this right to clean it correct? How often should you deep clean it (other than wiping and blowing in it?)

If I don't use the tea bag method for the cart filler....what can I buy?

I'm not sure bout manual batts for the 4081 but the autos work fine. Mine has been running daily since June (alternating batts) and I have never cleaned my atty. The cart has a small cup that holds the liquid and I don't think the tea bag would work well, if you try anything try blue foam. JMO.
