I am new to this electronic cigarette and would like advice on what companies are reputable and not expensive (not free). I was just burnt by Lux E-Cig add recently! I am currently trying to stop smoking and would like to know if there are some good e-cigs that are designed specifically for people who are trying to quit? (cartidges that ween you off of nicotine, cartidges without nicotine but still have taste and vapor).
I will greatly appreciate if someone could help me with this.
There are many good, reputable suppliers out there. You can take a look through the ESF yellow pages to find a few of them listed there.
As for weening, you can get e-liquid in all ranges of nicotine strength.
If you want to try and quit all together, then I would suggest starting with a little nicotine strength as you can, then step yourself down from there. I wouldn't buy prefilled carts, they are a waste of money, buy e-liquid and refill your own. Then if you want to decrease the nic level of the juice you already have, you can do this by adding some Propylene glycol or for a heavier vapor cloud add some vegetable glycerine. When diluting this way, you will also be diluting the flavor, but if a person wanted, they could boost the flavor back up by adding some concentrated flavoring back in to the mix, such as from lorannoils. Or you can order flavoring from some of the Suppliers. I think Totally Wicked sells the same flavoring as is found in thier e-liquids for the DIY'ers. I know other Suppliers sell flavoring as well, perhaps someone else can point out a better supplier for flavorings and e-liquids.
As for good e-cigs to quit with, well I would think it depends on the time table you want to set for yourself to be completely smoke and vape free.
So for this I would not spend a lot of money on an expensive setup, and would probably think about going with just a standard Joye 510 starter kit, or for a little more, a Joye e-Go, which has bigger batteries and gives a better vape experience, but also uses a joye 510 atomizer.
When it comes to zero nicotine e-liquid, this you could easily make yourself. Just check out the DIY e-Liquid recipes forum for some ideas.

I agree, any Joye,DSE or KR kit would be good and they can be had from nice folks like Electronicstix,Awesome Vapor, Vaportalk or LitecigUSA to name a few I deal with regularly.I started with 24 mg liquid and worked my way down to the point I can use low 6 mg or 0 mg .I really like the flavors so I have not considered quitting vaping yet.Refillable Boge 510 cartomisers with a drip tip on an Ego or 510 battery would be my recomendation if I were to make one.
In these days, one should even be questioning whether or not the air we breathe, especially in congested metropolitan areas is safe.
No reputable Supplier has ever claimed these things are safe. But when you compare them to cigarettes, which have over 4,000 chemicals in them and many of them known carcinogens, to the relative few chemicals in e-liquid, which have shown to have none to only microscopic traces of any known carcinogens, well, it is up to common sense to be the judge.
Here's something for you to try, blow a hit from a tobacco cigarette through a white cloth or paper towel, then do the same with a hit from an e-cig and make note between the two of what you see on the cloth. Not saying this proves or disproves anything, it is just for observational purposes.
When cigarettes first came out, they were advertised as safe. It took many years/decades before the damage they were causing was ever recognized. Since then, and for many decades now, people have been well educated and informed of the dangers of smoking, yet people continue to ignore the dangers and choose to smoke, even though they know the impending consequences.
Forgive me when I say this, I am not laughing or poking fun at your question, your question is legit.
It is just that I think it is funny when smokers question the safety of vaping, where if they had been so concerned about safety they would have never started smoking to begin with.
E-cigs have only been out for a few years. I smoked cigarettes for 35 years, I tried many times to quit, using every known smoking cessation method available and nothing worked for me. What finally got me to put down the stinkies was the e-cig. I did it cold turkey if you will, using zero nicotine e-liquid. Yes I still had with drawals from the tobacco. But the act of smoking without smoking -using the e-cig, and getting some sense of satisfaction from seeing a smoke like cloud of vapor being exhaled, along with a decent taste and flavor and a slight throat hit, was enough to suffice my cravings to get me though the difficult days without going crazy.
In the previous paragraph you may have noted that I stated tobacco withdrawals, not nicotine withdrawals. The reason why I stated it this way is, it is my belief that there are a lot more chemicals in cigarettes making them more physically addictive than just nicotine.
My views on this are from both personal and observational experiences. Personally, once having completely kicked the habit of cigarette smoking, I have found that I have no troubles vaping e-liquid with nicotine, sometimes for months at a time, then go back to zero nicotine with no real cravings or withdrawals, and certainly nothing at all like what I went through when I first put the stinkies down.
And through observations, I have seen many people who vape themselves into a dizzy with a nicotine buzz, and still are craving a cigarette. Makes me question why that is?
So, as far as the electronic cigarette goes, it is not and should not be marketed as a smoking cessation device. Anyone making claim that it is, goes against everything we are trying to do when it comes to protecting our right to vape. For to claim that it is a smoking cessation device, the e-cig would then fall under the description of a drug delivery device, which would give the FDA even more control over them than they do now; Since they have been declared a tobacco product.
Whether or not a user decides to use an e-cig in this manner is up to him or her. But for the rest of us, it is simply an alternative to smoking.

Chewing gum, mints and hard candy are not sold as quit smoking devices either but some people have used them for that purpose. It really is nice to get rid of the smell in your clothes and house.

Don't forget the tooth picks, straws and swizzle sticks.
