Default ego type batteries

Would anybody know the difference between ego type batteries and other types, when you try to test ego batteres for output voltage on a digital
readout it just flutters and you can not get a reading, even under load
with and atomizer attached. Thanks Ive tried testing with two meters not
the fluke kind,i picked it up from vapormoon who sells them and they indicate problems with the ego, just curious if egos have a voltage limiter
built in for shorts on bad atomizers. Thanks

I have never owned an Ego type.Almost all lithium ion batteries and I would say all stock ecig batteries have a circut board which will limit current flow in and out and will shut it off when fully charges or discharged to the prescribed setpoint.Lithium ion batteries have a habit of suddenly releasing energy when the current flow is too fast.I have read about some circutry ,not sure if it is any of the Ego types that do things to try and increase usefull charge life by pulsing the current .I don't spend a lot of time analysing gear as once you have bought it it is yours until it quits working and you can seldom do anything to improve it.Are you not getting vapor?

It has been said that Joyetech eGo batteries have built in Pulse Width Modulation (PWM circuit). I use them but have never bothered to test them. I try not to fix what is not broken.
Anyway, if this be true, it would be the reason why you are seeing what you are seeing.

Thanks for your help, there is no problem it was just odd you could not measure voltage
i did find out they use a pulse regulator,so you wont see a stedy flow of power to measure its what royal said in the other post.
