RN4081 Passthrough problem/question

My passthrough, which is awesome when it's working correctly, has developed a problem. It was designed to active (turn on) when drawn through. However, lately it is energizing even when I'm not drawing through it. This means I have to unplug it between drags, or risk burning up an atomizer.

When I get in off the road this month, I was thinking I'd make a trip to Radio Shack and purchase and splice in a "momentary on" button, eliminating the need to unplug between drags, and the risk of burning up an atomizer. Problem is, I don't know what size (volts, amps, etc.) switch I should be looking for. But, I figure we have enough techie guru types on here that someone can point me in the right direction.

This is my favorite switch Model: 275-016 the metal tab comes off and it feels like a tactile switch but is way more rugged.One of the problems with auto batteries and passthroughs is liquid seepin in and shorting things out.You might be able to while it is unplugged dip the end in alcohol a few times and shake it out and let dry overnight to clean out the switch.If its broke anyway I doubt you will hurt it.You might want to consider a Joye manual passthrough and an adapter for RN 4081 atties Joye 510 to RN4081 (NPro or SmokingEverywhere Gold) atomizer adapter (Silver finish) and Joye 510 manual pushbutton USB passthrough cable - matte black with NO LED that is my favorite passthrough as it is 3.7 volts not 5 and you can use it unplugged because it has a battery in it .The Ego passthrough is a good one as well 3.7 volts and you can use it unplugged and with no cable attached http://www.vaportalkstore.com/produc...ssthrough.html

You might want to consider saving the connectors from your old dead batteries and building a mod,or just buy some connecters they have all the stuff @ MadVapes it costs less than $10.00 to build a 1X14500 battery mod and that is equal to the battery life of five stock batteries.Two batteries and a charger are another $20.00 .All I use these days is simple box mods,I have two with 510 connecters and five or six with 801 connecters.Thats not only thrifty its downright cheap.

I keep parts stocked, and when I'm in the mood, I'll build 2 or 3 in a few hours. When one goes out, I just grab another.

Hi, I'm a newb so excuse me if this don't come out right. I believe I have most the materials to make a 2AA wetbox, and myself and alot of friends have a bunch of the 4081 cartos. Does anyone know of a step x step using one of the 4081 conns instead of building one with using the 510 conn to 4081 carto adapter setup?

As a rule all of the connectors are basicly the same ,either sealed or not.So the instructions for a 510 would be the same for 4081 .I don't know much about the wetbox setup ,I haven't found a need for something like that yet.But its only been two years who knows.
