yesterday I bought a joye 510 kit
the site didnt have a passthru in stock when I ordered so Im trying to find one elsewhere.
my question is I see Joye 510 USB Pass-through with inline batttery
seeming to be standard
however I came across Manual DSE901 Passthrough combined with a Joye510 adapter.
since I have no idea what im doing..Im wondering if there is some disadvantage or maybe even buying such a passthru with adapter would void my warranty..any help would be appreciated
The inline battery type offers the option to be able to go unplugged with it.
But the ones without the battery tend to perform better.
Jason of electronicstix sells them. 510 DIRECT PASSTHROUGH (NO IN-LINE BATTERY BOX)
This one is in stainless steel finish, but I think he has different colors. I like the stainless look best myself. Be sure to use promo code "ESF10" without the quotes at checkout to save an additional 10%.

Inline Battery =3.7 volts not 5 volts makes for a difference when vaping.A personal preference but something to be aware of.Will be hotter @ 5 volts and will taste different. While the ones with batteries do go bad they are not very expensive to replace.
I bought my kit from Jason of electronicstix
but he did not have the passthru in stock..sniff
Just so I understand using it in the passthru runs it at 5volt and hotter.
I dont even have this 510 yet.shipped this morning .so I'm not even a noob..Im a prenoob!
Thanks all for the replies
If it has an inline battery then it essentially is running off the battery.
If it is direct without an inline battery, then it will run up to five volts, but it all depends on you power source. A 510 draws more amperage than most other e-cigs. So I'd recommend a 2 amp power source to run at or near full output.
2.0 USB outputs typically only put out 500 milliamps or 1/2 an amp.
So typically I have found 510 passthroughs not to function any better than their 3.7 volt battery counterparts, unless they are being fed with a power source that can keep up.
The ones with inline batteries, serves two purposes, because the amperage from your power source is only keeping the battery charged, it keeps from overloading the circuit, especially on a computer. The other purpose is to allow you to go unplugged. But they will not perform any better than a standard 510 e-cig battery.
The only drawback with the standard 510 batteries is that even though they are 3.7 volt batteries to begin with, they are stepped down by the FET switch. As a result performance is better when a 510 atomizer is used on a battery mod, whether it be a 3.7 or a 5 volt or higher mod.
Don't take what I said wrong, the standard Joye 510 is still going to perform, but if you are already looking for a boost in performance, there are better options to consider for this purpose than a passthrough.
Have you looked at the Joye E-go batteries? They will last much longer than a standard 510 battery and will out perform them as well. The new 900 mah eGo batteries will last for most, a full 24 hours of use between charges. the standard 650 mah eGo batteries will go for 5 to 8 hours on a charge, it all depends on how heavy it is used.
Since you are just starting out, I would just stay with what you ordered for the time being, I used nothing but for better part of a year before I decided to step it up a notch. Just be prepared to keep your batteries charged, and often. I never left home without at least a couple of freshly charged batteries and my charger.

Thank you Royal..
I think I understand what your saying,I wasn't aware the ego batteries were compatable as I mentioned before this is all a bit confusing to figure out at first..but from the forum I did get the importance of having additional batteries..so I did order 2 mega 280 mah batteries with my kit ,and I dont want my first days experiance to be like a chore..know what I mean..I would like to be able to vape away ,I ask about things mostly as this is all unknown to me ,I'm not exactly partial to charging things from my computer as that is my baby..and I saw one post mention it burnt the motherboard..ugh..so I did get a wall adapter ..next time we speak I might have vapor coming out my ears..thank you for all the information i do appreciate it

It can be overwhelming at first ,and we all try to steer you in directions to minimise your problems. There is nothing wrong with stock batteries ,I have been vaping for more than a year and have tried all kinds of stuff but I usually end up with the DSE 801 stock battery which is the same as a Joye 510 mega as far as performance goes. The pass through is good for people who sit at the computer for extended periods of time as you just use the usb for power.Royal made mention of a 2 amp power supply which plugs into the wall and you can use the pasthrough elsewhere in the house or even with a 12 volt adapter for the auto.I did find it was benefical to buy a second starter kit soon after I was sure I liked vaping, you get extra atties or carto's depending on which kit you get/got extra batteries and best of all and extra charger to help get all your batteries charged back up quicker in the evenings.
I'd suggest buying a 110v to USB adapter, and plug itin near the 'puter. If something goes wrong with your passthrough, it's easier to replace the adapter than have your 'puter repaired.

I did get this usb wall adapter..no passthru as yet..however its does make a second charger as well,so yeah.
