510 Cartomisers

I've never used cartomizers, but am wondering. Does anyone who refills them know how long on the average they will last?

Ok every body is raving about these things and Jason at ElectroNicStix has some with rubber plugs for easier refill .So I ordered a box ,will let you know.I also finally ordered a real Joye 510 atty to try I only have one of the two DSE 510 styles left,after six months of occasional use.

Does anyone have an idea of the shelf life of cartomizers. I have a few 510 ones but lots of 808's that I've had since January, will they dry out?

From what I have read Jim, 6-8 refills some time up to 10, then toss. Performance starts to deteriorate I gather after 4-5... and of course it goes without saying, that heavily vaped into dry states will shorten their lifespan.

Even at 10 refills, that seems like a relitively short lifespan. My attys give me 4 to 6 months, at least.

I would guess the prfilled carts may dry out ,it seemes most of the prefilled regular carts I ever got were mostly dried out.It depends on how good they are sealed and I doubt they spent much time trying to make sure they were sealed for the price.The ones I ordered from ElectroNicStix are empty so I will never know about the prefilled ones.

I got someone to take one apart and tell me whats in there.It turns out the element is longways up the middle and it is wrapped with a piece of cloth that burns through almost imediatly and around that is packed the usual fiberfill.I did not find out for sure but I would suppose there is a baffle to keep you from sucking the liquid from the fiberfill.I was curiouse to see if they were restuffable and I would say no.I don't think there is any more filler than a 302/801 cart so I do not see how they could last any longer.With the element in the middle of the liquid resevoir it would not tkae long to heat the whole batch up.Can't wait to try one in person .Vicariouse vaping isn't the same.

Thats great for now, but when times get rough, and our favorite Uncle Sam starts giveing us the golden shaft, convenience won't have a place here anymore.
