I'm so new to this that I'm staring at the box trying to determine what make and model I have....E-Cigarette Model KR-808??? Anyway..I thought this was the perfect solution to cutting back on the analogs, since quitting entirely seems like a dream of the distant past. I've been an analogue smoker for more than twenty years and this past year starting surpassing a pack a day..Yikes

It took about two days before I could wrap my brain around the question, Is this vaping thing really like smoking? My E-cig is still so new to me that I'm still in the stages of why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm sometimes using it, but like Greg still smoking the real things (though slightly less). Any thoughts from anyone out there for a noob would be helpful

Welcome Kimster.For me it is not at all like smoking .I started just to beat the smoking bans.It fullfilled my need so well though that I lost the desire to smoke anymore.I was dissapointed at first because I could not find a liquid that was like smoking.I started trying the coffee's and frooty ones and I liked them so well I have stayed with them.It has been over four months since my last ciggerette and my house car and clothes smell so much better.I always knew a nonsmoker could tell when I snuck out and had a smoke so I never tried to hide the fact or denied it if asked but wow I can smell a smoker from across the room now.Relax enjoy and have some fun with it,Any questions just ask ,someone will have an answer and some of them are good answers.

Welcome kimster;

Vaping isn't exactily like smoking. Only smoking is like smoking. I sucked down 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day for over 40 years. I had some minor withdrawl at first, but nothing serious.

I first settled on vanilla flavor. I started on 24mg of nic, but I kept a bottle of 36mg for my morning coffee and after dinner. That little spike helped me through the rough times. After about a month, I stopped spiking in the morning and it worked out well.

I feel that it's 50% e-cig, and 50% mental. You have to put your mind to it, and the rest is downhill. I'm a firm beleiver of getting away from the tobacco flavors. Experiment with other flavors, but don't overwelm yourself at first. Find a nice flavor and stick with it for a while. Before you know it, cigarettes will smell and taste gross. Hit a little higher nic if you feel jumpy, but don't over do it.

I'm doing menthol now. (18mg) It's a clean minty taste, and the menthol gives me the throat hit I need.

Hang in there kid. We're all here to help.

Smile Just another noob

I just joined today after receiving my new KR808D, but I've been reading the posts here for a while to research which one I wanted to try, and to find reputable sellers. I think this may take a little practice as it doesn't seem like I'm getting much out of it; certainly not a hit like an analog. There's no vapor at all, but I'm getting something out of it because it helps the craving and I can taste the menthol. The prefilled cartomizers I ordered didn't seem to have hardly anything in them. Luckily, I ordered several bottles of liquid too and that seems to be helping some. I'm probably not doing a very good job of this yet, but practice makes perfect.

Anyhow, just thought I'd say, "Hi!" and thanks for all the info in your posts that helped me to decide what to order and from whom. Happy vaping to one and all.

Glad to see you stopped by. Welcome.
E-cigs take a bit of getting used to. Keep your atomizer wet, but remember, too much juice is not good. You may be flooding it. Also, make sure your batteries are charged. Try downloading the Troubleshooting Guide from the link in my sig. There's information that will be helpful.

There's a learning curve, and it will take a little time to master your technique. Take it slow & easy, and don't get discouraged. is here.

Is it even possible to flood a cartomizer?If you want to try something different vlgemini you can use DSE 901 atty's and carts on your KR808 batteries and see if three peice models are a better fit.You can also explore the wacky wonderful world of dripping with the 901.

Thanks Jim. I'm getting vapor today; I guess I just needed more juice. I'm confused about something though. I ordered the KR808D from Electronicstix, which I thought was 280mA, but the case says it's an 808-e pack and the output is 4.2v with 200mA. Did I get ripped off? Thanks for any advice. I really want to give up the analogs, but sometimes I get so frustrated with this thing that I give in and have a stinkie.
