Cartomizers seem like a waste to me.
I cannot see the economics in the cartomizers,or prefilled carts for that matter.I am still using a 5 month old attomizer and it works as good as a new one.And the prefilled carts I would have to use a couple of boxes a day.It goes against my better judgment to throw away something that was working, and the cartomizers look like a pain to refill.
Well good for you. Do you think that's typical? Did you spend any time on it in those 5 months? Any prep/cleaning/draining/boiling etc? How about cart filler mods? Foam/springs/Fluval/straws etc. Some folks though, don't want a hobby, they just want to use them. As far as the economics, if time is money then through-away cartomizers ain't such a bad deal. For someone who's not inclined to fiddle (and read a few hundred posts) with their PV, a 510 (untouched, out of the box) would get a lot less use that a KR808D-1. I don't own a 510 set, with their dinky batteries. At home I use an M401 on a PT (dipper heaven) and a homemade PT (runs off a 5V PS) with a 510 or 901 atty. When I go to work though it's my KR808D-1 I grab. It's standard issue 280mAh batteries rock and 2 cartomizers are more than enough to get me through the night. No kits, no bottles, no paper clips... you get the idea.
Some people like to cook, some people just want to eat. Smile

I use three or four and when the taste starts to degrade I clean them with denture tabs.I have had one that would not wick ,I use it for a drip atty and I broke my second one by poking around in it with a toothpick. Most seem to last pretty long.

First let me say that atomizers or cartomizers are the individuals choice. Whatever works best for you.
I happen to use the atomizers, and they serve me well. I had an atty that was used daily for over 6 months. I dropped my passthrough on the floor, and the atty went cold on me.Mad! I'm using #2 now, and it works just fine.
I never clean them unless they get clogged. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I was just trying to stimulate some conversation. Its all good and what works for some don't work for others .Most of all its your money spend it how you want.I just happen to be on the frugal side (some call it chep or tightwad),I can see retirement coming and a bottle and a half a week of liquid and an attomizer or two a month and a box of Fluval every two years it appears ,is more economical for me.
I get through an atty every two-three weeks. Never clean them, just slap it on and vape til it drops or dies. I'm going to try cartomisers when my SuperSix comes, just to see what they are like.

I came across these photos of the gudgeons of a cartomizer on another forum. Hope they all don't do that, might have went tooo long on that one
Yea, I would say so.
I have to wonder, what all are you inhaling when this happens to a cartomizer.
I have never tried one, but I would think that dripping with a cartomizer is out of the question. And from the looks of these pics, I certainly would not use one on anything other than the standard battery. If this thing got burned like this on 3.7 volts, imagine what 5 volts would do. I would shudder the thought of smoking the filler. And I would not trust the prefilled to be completely filled.
We have come to live in a disposable world. I remember when milk came in glass returnable bottles and was delivered fresh each morning by the milkman.
