Well, I never tasted a tire before, so I wouldn't know. For me, the feel of the soft rubber is much more comfortable than the plastic ones.

I just fitted a Joye Mega plastic whistle tip in this Smoktech Mega DC cart and it fits like a glove. I am wondering if I can use a filled Joye Mega cartridge on this puppy and get it to wick from it as well. Without taking accurate measurements, and just eyeballing it, it looks to be of proper depth to work.
If so, that would greatly increase the mileage between refills. I am going to give it a try and report back with my findings, it may take some time though.

Edit: Well, it didn't take long to conclude that the DC cartomizer will wick from a Joye Mega cartridge, only drawback is that the cartridge also seeped down the center of the carto. That was the same drawback from using them on the Joye Megas, the cartridges are just too wide and loosely packed to hold the liquid properly. Perhaps a tighter packing will work better. But at this point, I don't feel the need to experiment any further, as the DC Mega cartos hold way more than enough liquid to keep me going long enough between refills. But if anyone wants to use the plastic whistle tipped cartridges like this, I would suggest using them just as a mouthpiece and with no filler. For me, I am back to the rubber whistle tips that came with the Cartos.

Part of the problem is the shape, those two side indents/air channels. The 801s are pretty much the same. It's impossible to get the filler evenly distributed. without over packing in the filler. If you look it's almost impossible to get a nice, gapless fit in the 4 'corners' that are created.

Look at the cart the Bulli uses vs the 801/Mega style.
