What the heck is a kick?

It seems like something new is coming out everyday. I read here in a thread somewhere about something called a kick, that was coming out soon. I am not one to jump on the band wagon with every little device that comes out, but I do like to stay informed.
Has anyone heard of this, and what the heck is it? All I have gathered is that it is something to use in your mod that gives it a kick.

It is variable WATTS, not volts. The Kick (a booster) is being made slip into an 18650 tube tube PV. You then need to use an 18500. If you set it for 8W, no matter what you put on it, you will get 8W.

two words of warring about the kick. one it is designed has a boost for 3.7 battery tube mods. meaning push more than that and the kick burns out.

I did some research on this Kick thingamabog. As Billy Black has already said, It is made by the same people who makes the Darwin. From I gather, the kick will be of the same basic principles as used in the Darwin giving any tube mod the ability to vary the wattage. It will work just like the Darwin by reading the initial battery voltage and atty resistance to step up the output voltage to achieve the desired wattage output. It is said that the Kick may also come as a modder board, so that it can be incorporated in to all types of mods, other than just a metal tube type 18650 mod.

Because it is variable wattage, kind of like the Provari, only is as I understand it, is a variable voltage mod. The kick should only be used with high drain batteries. So to be used in an 18650 tube mod, an 18500 IMR would be used instead, allowing room for the kick.

If the price is right on this, it might be something I would be willing to give a try, just for kicks.
But for me, I am not willing to shell out some $250.00 for a Darwin or any other like device.
