My new Toy

As most of you know, I'm the old guy that sticks with the same thing. Last week, I got in a shopping mood. I ordered the Gold Rush Tube mod from Madvapes. They had 3 available, and my wife said "Buy all three" (She's like that when it comes to shopping) I *did order two of them though. All I can say is Wow. The first drag hit me like a truck. I picked up 2 18650 - 3000mAh batteries, and this thing is great. It will run on 3.7v - 6v - or 7.2v. The 3.7 is more than enough for me.

I'm going to hit it for a while, and then I'll write a review on it. It's really big, but I love it. The Protege is now in my computer case as a spare.

Ahhhhh - Sometimes change is OK.

I did a short stint with an 18650 mod made from copper tubing.Just way too large for me.But it did the job.It seemed prone to hitting the floor a lot for some reason.

well i have been on a BB PT since i had it and will only get a new mod if and when i can afford it or if gifted like my backup protege.

I remember you quitting a whie back. Since you started again, I hope you didn't get rid of all your supplies. It would suck if you had restock again.

It's definately on the large side, but I love this thing. I even packed away my passthroughs. I wanted one of those acrylic passthroughs from Madvapes, but they've been out of stock for ages.

I have used 10440 14500 14650 and 18650 batteries so far and 14500 seems to me to be the ideal size and capacity.Two of them get me through an eight hour work day.I still keep eying the coffin shaped box at MadVapes,that with a couple of battery clips might make an 18650 mod that wouldn't be so bad.I only use my PT to try and get a few more days from a gunked up atty.I crank the V.V. up to 4 to 5 volts .

Dang, that is a big mod you got there Jim. How do you plan on carrying it? On second thought, I don't want to know.

No problem there Buddy;

It's a might large, but I'm using the same kind of eyeglass case as my Protege. Just no room in the case for an extra battery.

I've got juice in my frig that is well over two and a half years old and is still good, just flavors no one here likes is all. I am slowly getting rid of them though, by giving them to friends and relatives when they come a bummin.
