First time user looking for advice

Hi forums,

Thanks for a cool site I stumbled across it after clicking a link to an e-cig add. Saved me from a scam actually . I've spent about an hour perusing these prior posts and I want to try an e-cig. I've been about a pack/day smoker for 10 yrs and have tried quitting with minimal success well I'm sure we've all heard that before.

I'm kind of leaning toward the joye ego starter kit (rubberized black?) from electronicstix based on what I read. But does that come with everything I need? I've never used an e-cig or even seen a person use one. I read that it's better to buy liquids separate to refill the cartridge? I'm sorry I don't have much of a clue.. I'd hate to buy this starter kit and get just a 3 cigarette supply when it finally comes. A basic idea of monthly cost would be great too, with these joye ones. I currently spend about 160 with analogs.

Hi Syd, and Welcome to ESF.

The eGo would be a wise choice to go with. It uses the Joye 510 atomizers which are probably the most popular of all e-cigs.

You should buy some extra e-liquid. The kit shoudl come with a pck of prefilled carts, but they do not last long. Don't throw away the carts though, they can be reused over and over, just refill them as needed.

I'd suggest starting off with the highest nicotine level e-lquid. You can alwasy cut it down, but you can't increase it. As for flavor, just go with your gut, as you know what you like beter than anyone else. I tend to stick with the ones named after tobacco flavors because I do not tire of them as easily. Kidn of like smoking the same brand of analogs day in and day out. For me, it is finding a flavor I can come to depend on.

An average heavy vaper will around 2 or 3ml of e-liquid a day, so with this type of user in mind a 30ml bottle of e-liquid will last you around 10 to 14 days.

Thanks for the reply!! I do believe it was one of your other posts that led me to the eGo. I just ordered it with 4 bottles of 26mg niquid in assorted tobacco flavors. I must say I'm pretty pumped to drop the analogs and stick with this. The first few days will probably take getting used to. Also, the cost seems significantly lower..

Thanks again for the suggestions. I got it saturday, been using it ever since saturday night. I must say, my body feels like I'm not smoking. But my brain doesn't know that lol. Looking forward to what the future holds for e-cigs
