Default Is my PCC killing my batteries?

I've noticed a decrease in the length of time my batteries are holding their charge. Just wondering if this could be from using a PCC? Or have I just begun vaping more than I realize?!

You didn't get some LR atties/carto's did you? They will drain a battery faster.I think they are supposed to be good for 200 recharge cycles whatever that means.Clean the fittings with alcohol they may be shorted with gunk.Could be the PCC, have you tried charging with regular charger to see if they do better? The PCC has a rechargeable battery that could be the problem ,just not charging them up all the way.And lastly batteries are expendable so it might time to get some new ones.

That is typical of standard joys 510 batteries if that is what you are using.
I sometimes would only get 30 minutes use out of one, then normal use after recharging. Try charging them with a standard charger and see if that makes a difference.
Regardless, 510 attys will put a heavy load on them.

They're the attys that came with my kit(3wks ago). Had already thought to clean contacts(too many years in the hardware business!), didn't notice them being very dirty.
Tried just the wall charger and they do seem to be doing better. How long do you normally leave them on the charger? Hubby thinks they need to come off as soon as the light turns green. I usually leave them til it's time to charge the one in use. And do you usually run them all the way down or swap when you notice the drop in performance?

BTW-Thanks for all the help!

It is recommended that lithium ion batteries are not left unattended while charging. With that being said, I always leave mine on the charger till I need it. But I do take safeguards and place the charger and battery on a fire proof surface, and plug the charger in to a GFCI protected outlet.

I hear a lot about people having Li-ions explode on them, but I think in a lot of these cases, they were most likely using unprotected batteries and were also running two of them in series.

Note: All standard e-cig batteries are protected that I am aware of. The chargers are in most cases just a power supply, as they rely on the batteries built in protection circuit to avoid overcharging.

If you are not satisfied with the life cycle of these standard 510 batteries, and you want to stick with an OEM product, you may want to look in to picking up an eGo battery or two. I have a few of them, 650 mah's and 900 milliamp hour eGo batteries. I can get 5 to 6 hours out of a 650 mah, and can go all day on the bigger 900 mah battery. (I consider myself to be a heavy vaper.)
Since you already have atomizers, you really don't need to buy the whole starter kit, instead just order a battery and a cone cover. You will also need to either buy an adaptor to charge them with the standard charger you already have, or you can get a USB charger for the eGo, which will charge the eGo batteries much faster than the standard chargers will.

These eGos are not really any bigger than a standard 510 in length, but are a bit wider. With the cone in place they are pleasing to the eye.

Also to touch on mcquinn's point. LR attys should not be used on standard e-cig batteries, the standard batteries are just not strong enough to handle the increased load. LR attys will kill a standard e-cig battery.
The Ego batteries, and especially the 900 mah version can handle this extra load as well as any mod with sufficient mah rating, with the exception of the CR2 protected batteries, which tend to trip the built in PCB circuit when trying to use a LR atty on them.
A Low resistant atomizer is intended to give you the performance of a 5 volt device using only 3.7 volts to achieve. I have tried them and I don't like them. I have found that with LR's, flavor is sacrificed.
For me, a standard 510 atomizer running on a true 5 volt device performs better and the flavor is somewhat enhanced this way. But the draw back with either approach is an increase in e-liquid consumption, and you will find yourself topping off more more frequently. when running high voltage, I usually only drip, and use a blank cart with no filler material.

I put the PCC to the side and have stuck with the regular charger and they seem to be doing better. mcquinn must've been right about them not getting a full charge off it.

Not sure that I'm ready to upgrade to an eGo, but did order a couple extra batteries. Been running on just the 2 that came with my kit. I'm still in the getting off analog stage, so I might just be hitting this more than I realize!lol It's working though!

Can't imagine they would have put LR attys in my kit, so I don't think that is an issue. But will keep what you said in mind! Okay...so I'll come back and reread if that becomes a question!

You guys are the BEST! Thanks!

Okay, had a brain fart! Does a dirty atty cause a decrease in battery performance? As in the atty is dirty so the battery has to work harder to heat up. I may have answered my own question....But not sure so I'll leave it to those smarter at this stuff than me!(I've read some of the technical posts! WOW!)

It has been my experience that over time atomizer resistance increases. Higher the resistance, the lower the amperage. Less amperage equals less drain on your batteries, but also less performance and you will have to work it harder. A new Joye 510 atomizer will measure between 2.3 and 2.5 ohms. If you have an ohm meter you can see where yours is standing.

Depending on the juice you are using, some burn clean and leave little residue, while others burn dirty and gunk up an atomizer fast.
Look inside your atomizer, do you see a lot of build up? It may be time to give yours a bath.
