Default Is It Still A "Hobby" For You?

Back on the "olden days" when I first tried the e-cig, I found that I loved it, and turned my addiction into a hobby.

I bought different models, supplies, and gadgets like there was no tomorrow. Vaping was on my mind every minute of the day, and I spent most of my time thinking about improvements, accessories, and getting the most for my money. I showed it to everyone I met.

Now, I stick to a single flavor & strength of juice, much the same as my old brand of ciggies, and keep it to myself unless someone asks.

My case, containing my Protege, Juice, and spare battery is the same as my old pack of ciggies too. It goes into my pocket when I leave, and gets thrown with my car keys when I return.

How about you?

Is it still new and exciting? or has it become part of your everyday life.

I have pretty much setteled on a few liquids , 801 stock batteries and I have aquired an assortment of atties and cartos I switch off on .I build a box mod now and then if I go to RadioShack for something I will get some things to see if I can make a better one.And I am getting ready to build a variable power supply so I can use my home made passthroughs.I never could get used to 5 volts so they just sit in a drawer while I use my Kissbox passthroughs. Not quite as exciting as it was just a part of life I suppose.Been about a year and a half now.Really not much to get excited about these days there is only so many ways to vaporise e-liquid.Shame no one ever made the peizo thing work.

It will always be a hobby as there is 'fiddling' to do to keep the vape solid. Plug & Play it ain't.

But every so often I build (and sell a few) things.

I just built a PT that resembles a WetBox, without all the short comings of a WetBox. I'm trying Fono's 'Phidias Feedimus' system approach. It's a bottom feeder similar to the one Petercro first developed but without the down tube into the bottle. The trade-off is you have to invert it to pump, but it has many advantages.

If anyone is interested I'll post a how-to.

A "how to" would be a good addition to the Library.

For me, once I had completely made the transition from smoking to vaping.
It has become just a normal activity, that I do with very little thought.
Sure I have to top off carts, change out batteries, and the occasional cleaning.
To me it is not that much different than it was when I smoked. Then I had to make sure I had an ash tray close at hand, then there was the disposal of the butts. I also used a zippo for the most part of my smoking life. Lighters required maintenance, refilling, flint replacement, occasional wick replacements, etc. Then there was the making of my cigarettes. Because of the high cost of store bought cigarettes, the last couple of years of smoking, I did RYO cigarettes. I had to make them for myself and my wife, so this meant making at least two packs or more per day. It took me on average about 8 minutes to stuff 20 cigarette tubes, then I had to place them in a cigarette case, so all in all I spent 20 to 30 minutes a day just making and prepping my cigarettes.
I spend far less time per day fiddling with my e-cigs as it only takes a couple of seconds to refill a cart, not much more time than it took to light up. With big batteries, I usually am only changing batteries once per day.
When an atty gets to the point it needs cleaning, I just drop it in a shot glass filled with grain alcohol and forget about it for a day or two.
So now, instead of carrying a lighter, I carry a battery, and instead of carrying a pack of cigarettes, I carry a bottle of juice.

It is only a hobby if you choose to look at it that way. It can be as simple or as complicated as you make it to be.

I would say it is not a hobby anymore. I only buy what i need to keep my SD going.I only buy from one place and haven't looked around in a long time . Just happy with what i have.
