Mini's vs Mods?
It's really more manufactured in a factory vs Mods made at home...
For a starter "mini", my suggestion is a Joye 510...or if your ready for something that doesnt look just like a real cig an eGo(much better battery life)
mods chuck or sabertouch
Auto vs Manual batts?
Autos have a hole in the bottom of them so when you suck on them it moves a wire and turns the battery on. It's More like smoking. However..with the hole if juice gets into them the battery is pretty much shot.
Manuals have a small button, that is pushed to start the battery...the bottom is sealed so it's better protected. Takes a few days to get used to, but its not a big deal.
Suggest manuals.
M401's vs J510's?
m401s are the exact size of a real regular cig....they are widely sold under names like Blu, and valcano. I had a blu...personally think it's a crapola product but it got me started in ecigs. Battery life is 30 mins, no power no real vapor, cant really refill them.
they are however good for dripping as they have an exposed atty.
J510 is one of the most recommend ecigs for beginners. Same size as a 100 cig. 3.1vs 1-2 hour battery life(mega 510 batteries are better but longer) comes in a bunch of cool colors.
It's a good basic start sold by the majority of suppliers so it's cheaper.
USA made e-juice vs Dekang or other china made juice?
It's a matter of opinion...some folks like Dekang/Chinese juice.
It's bulk made in Chinese labs, and is by far cheaper and is readily available a lot of suppliers relabel it as their own.
But IMHO it tastes like ;pppppppppp worst less waste of money.
US juice in general taste Much better...made to order or in small batches.
But currently there is no regulation for US juices so there is some risk that it might be made in someones garage in unsterilized conditions.
I'd suggest...Halo, johnsons creek, tasty vapor, and Ms t's
PG vs VG juice?
Propylene Glycol is thinner then VG, holds the flavor better, but has less vapor then VG.
Vegetable glycol is very very thick and has to be cut with some normally PG or alcohol.
Both can are FDA approved for human consumption...and I guarantee you have had plenty of both.
Some folks have negative reactions to PG...so they use VG only. If you dont have a problem...I'd suggest a mix of the two like 70% pg 30% vg
36, 24, 16 or lower nic?
First of all NEVER vape anything more then 36mg, the 48mgs are meant to be cut not vaped.
it's based upon how much nic is in each ml...so 1ml of 24mg has 2.4% nic in it.
As a previous pack and a half smoker I started at 24mg and gradually moved down. I'd suggest if you where a heavy smoker buying mostly 24mg and a smaller bottle of 36 for freak out days.
Order from China or USA companies?
China = cheaper cost for stuff, more expensive shipping cost, much much slower shipping, and sometimes CS issues(that whole langage thing can get in the way) and possibility of customs taking stuff. heaven gifts is one I've used(they are the only ones with Blue egos right now) .
USA = little more to a lot more $, cheaper shipping should be much faster shipping, no customs issues. limited selection but you can beat the prices and service cignot

I like the DSE 901 or the Joye 510 with Dekang liquid and I like to use carts or cortomisers instead of dripping just way less complicated that way.The mods are ok when they work but have battery connection and switch problems you won't have with stock units. If you are looking for a hobby then go for mixing your own and doing the mods ,VG makes more vapor but PG is easier to find.It can be as complicated as you want to make it,and as expensive. What ever you get have several spare atties ,batteries and chargers on hand as they all break eventually.
Untamer, great 1st post here... you took the time to explain things...and thanks! No doubt about you having been around tha block a time or two.
About the m401s, I think there are some not so good knock offs around. My M401s have about an 8 hr. batt life but, as someone said here, I must still be analoging. Batt does last awhile though. Mine also have a good, maybe not great vape. I still want to try the Joye 510 also.
US juice, what little I have ordered, Rath, DOES have a better flavor.
VG vs PG... I just ordered from a company, Nicotine Nirvana, that does mix both,% depending on the flavor used. That sounded smart to me. And they have the 36, good advice about those freak out days!, that I wanted to try. They say they are x smokers, and it sounded like they started like most folks here... mixing their own stuff. Wee'l see how it works. I will report back on this thread.
China, USA... yep, cheaper from China. So fast to order USA though! I have gotten two orders, arriving in 2 days from ordering, and just sent USPS 1st. class. Free shipping for one, $2.00 for the other. Both were small orders for juice.
Texas Style Chili, I agree. But, hard to find a good bowl in Texas, less you make it yourself. But... there is a Chili Parlor on every street corner in Cincy.??? How bout Texas Style Cincy Chili, cook some sketty w/ butter, cover w/ rat cheese ( just some red rind cheddar), and top w/ Wolf Brand Chili. The cheese melts into tha sketty and makes a tasty meal. Especially after being out late for a few drinks. Notice that I did not say to use some good homemade Texas chili in this way.
MCQ, as complicated or as expensive as you want... well put!!! For other fellow noobs like me that in itself might answer allot of questions.

That;
Now I see the new Joye ego. More powerful, better batt life. I am a bit confused about a cart cover for this. The cover is supposed to heat up the atty more. And then there is a low resistance atty.
I know this ego is new but looking for yall's thoughts.
Joe
Oh, now I see a mega 510 batt for the regular Joye510. It just lasts longer than a reg 510 batt I think? It is not more powerfull like the ego... I think?

I don't think they recomend using LR atties on the Ego and you cannot just get a generic battery for it.From what I see in the forums the mods are nice until the warranty runs out usually six months and then it usually costs $30.00 or $40.00 to get the switch fixed .And the switches do go bad and connections oxidize.

I am not much of a fan for the idea of a LR atty either. But I know that TW sells them and they state that they are only intended to be used with the Tornado, which is their name for the eGo.
As for the switches on the Screwdriver, like I previously stated, they are ony a stainless steel bolt and only costs, actually less than $5.00 which includes the spring and button cap. Even cheaper I suppose if you go to the hardware store.
Also the switch on the Mako, though this is a special designed mechanical switch, I do not see how this could go out, at least for a very long time.
If you have a switch go bad on the Ego battery, then you are out soem $23.00 to replace it, if you can find one in stock somewhere.
At least with a mod like a screwdriver, you can always just run down to the hardware store or order a new battey for less than $5.00 from battery junction.
As for oxidizing/tarnished brass, this is true even with our atomizers. Ever heard of Brasso?

May your e-Cig always have one more vape left in it.
Did a bit of looking into the P's. There is a 16 and an 18. The p18 holds 2 batts and can go 2 days w/o charging. And it can do 6v. The p16 is smaller, holds one batt, will go 6 hrs w/o a charge, is easier to carry, and just does the 3.7v. The jump from a 510 or 401, to a p16/18, is a big one but may make some sense. But, the smaller step to the screwdriver or an ego is a smaller one... but???
