Anyone hear of the Saber Touch mod by Vapormoon.com? Sir Lawrence is offering it right now for 10% off of the regular $109 for a 3.7 or 6 volt version of it, which I bought. It has a touch contact pad with no push button to break down-solid state circuitry! Has voltage battery protection with a sealed 510 battery connector. It is a real nice and purdy mod that comes in either a shiny aluminum with brass caps or black powder coat with brass caps. I couldn't make up my mind so I got the shiny one and I'm glad I did. Responds instantly to your touch but will not go off in your pocket-it's really an amazing mod and it vapes like a champ! I have been using both the 6 volt option with two Tenergy 123's in it and the 3.7 volt option with an 18650 battery and a LR attie. Both options are good and I like both, I consider it a large mod about the size of my Silver Bullets but taller, does resemble a saber handle. I absolutely love this mod and recommend it to anyone, this is the future folks with this new type button. The Precious, with a similar type switch is being offered for $159 by Caesar out of Romania, so this is a good buy with this technology for the Saber Touch. Here's the link. I know I am vocal, but I will try and explain my rationale.
The Precious with the touch sensitive button pales in comparison with the 18650 & 16340 Precise from superT, for the same price. Why? One is a totally mechanical device, whilst the other is electronic. Why is this important?
Well if a ban becomes permanent, the availability of spares might become a problem. In the US, this may not be an important aspect. But to us Canadians, an extremely important one, as no one is presently manufacturing these in Canada. The closest is the Fistpack, which requires to be sent to mfr for an oil change (read battery).
The sabre on the OTOH is a similar device but at a cheaper price, although beefier, if it is the size of a SB, which IMHO is far too bulky. The body could very well have been reduced IMHO, unless the body thickness is to accommodate the switch. Disregarding the latter, for $50 less a good deal if bulk is of no concern.
NY will be the real tell this week if their accepted bill in the Senate, becomes law this week, banning ecigs.
I would highly recommend to folks, to stick with all mechanical for durability if nothing else, and to learn how to build simple box mods.
Do not get me wrong I am extremely happy for you, but you may want to spend your hard earned cash where it really counts, into the heart of ecigs, or like Royal would say, the engine (attys).
In closing this is just my humble opinion nothing more. I just believe at this point in time that an all mechanical device is the only way to go, because any machine shop can fix it. For example, I can fix my screwdriver with what is in my garage, and I do not have a lathe. That is what I am looking for these days in a mod. If it wasn't for the price and the COMPLICATED for nothing top cap assy, the GG is also something to consider, in passing that is.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I see 3/4 X 5" pipe nipples with brass garden hose caps. I also saw no mention of a warranty other than it won't arrive DOA and 14 days.
$1.60 a pair for the caps, he went all out.
I remember when he first started out at ECF, asking all sorts of questions, that had been asked and answered numerous times (there is a search function). He finally built a 5V one and posted a how-to and a couple of videos. A short while later he pulled the videos. After a short hiatus he popped up again to grill folks on the mechanics of a touch switch, getting a few friendly folks to actually draw up schematics for him.
The components for a touch switch are only a few dollars, the TI 5V regulators are about $8.
Touch switches can be found in all shapes and sizes, some even lighted, and can be purchased in just about any electronics supply store; brick and mortar, or online.

Got a link Royal? Would mind using them on my box mods, if the price is decent.
While you are there take a look at the piezoelectric switches as well.
Like tactile switches, most of these touch switches are also not designed to handle much current, and are intended to instead control a relay. They will work, but with the load that we put on them, the question is, how long?
To use an underated switch of any type, if there is room, I would recomend using a relay to handle the current instead of the switch. For this reason among many others, I believe in the K.I.S.S. method. Me personally, I prefer to use a heavy duty mechanical switch that is rated for at least 2 or 3 amps, then not worry about it. Keep it simple.
