Your SE Gold, and NPRO are standard RN4081 Models with SE & NJOY's name branded on them. They're actually a good little unit. Parts and supplies can be bought cheaply to keep them vaping along
The 4081 attys are very rugged, and hold up to higher voltages. I've been using the 4081 for almost a year now, and have no complaints. Any questions? You can ask them in this thread, and I'll give you the information needed to keep them running cheaply.
If you decide to give up the 4081, and move on to something else, I recommend you pack it away and you'll have a decent unit for emergency use.

hey jim....i have a se gold, and wondered if a manual battery is a better way to go for this unit, seens me sucking on it like a pass-a-fire, they just are not lasting that long, about three hours or so,,,,,i am going to get a passthrough, and maybe if you recomend a manual battery i might get one also....thanks for all your info on here and the other sites you post on....been a great help....been analog free for a month...digging the vap
Battery life depends on how heavy you hit that thing. A while back, all the suppliers were out of stock on the 4081 batteries, so I ordered six DSE103 batteries. They seem to last longer, and are definitely easier to draw on. Those six batteries have been sitting for months now. I got them out a week ago, and they're all still fully charged.
hey jim....happy new year..... i just got my pass through.....wow what a champ it makes the 4081...was wondering do you use a cart with it...or just drip?.....also i ordered some attys and blanl carts from anycig.com....been almost 4 weeks and nothing......have you ever ordered from them and had any problems?.......thanks for all your help and info...been a great help getting me vaping....one mort thing.....i have a 12v usb adapter that i found laying around the house....it has a rating of 5 volts and 2 amps....the volts are right for the passthrough...but is 2 amps too much?.....thanks.....joey
Hey mrmiter,
I know your questions were pointed to Jim, but to answer your question about the amps on your USB adaptor for your passthrough. No, this is for how much of a load it can handle. Your device is what draws the amps, the adaptor doesn't put out anything unless something is pulling current from it. So the higher the amp rating on the adaptor, the better.
2 amps should be sufficient for your 4081.
Let's say your device has a resistance of 3 ohms and you are running it at 5 volts, then the amperage it draws will be around 1.67 amps.
Hope that makes sense.

Howdy miter;
When the electrical problems pop up, Royal is da man you want in your corner. As he said, 2amps is good. We all recommend at least 1amp to dirve a passthrough. I have one adapter that drives my passthrough @ 850mA, but it strains to keep the passthrough running. I keep it as a back-up.
Dripping is fine, and has good results, but watch out for overfilling. Too much juice can leak into the battery or passthrough and gum up the works. I found that the best results for me is to fill the cart until the surface of the fiber getts glossy. Then I drop a single drop on the atty bridge. I get great hit and vapor. When the vapor poops out, I refill. There are double size cartridges available for the 4081. The last time I looked, they were at; e cigarettes, The electronic cigarette store. I haven't tried them yet, but I've heard good things about them.
Hey, I live near Austin, Texas where the motto is keep Austin Weird.
Here in my small town we say keep Wimberley Weirder. We are all weird inour own way.
