Howdy mrmiter;

Glad you stopped back. Don't be such a stranger.

I'm still using my 4081 too. I split my vaping between the 4081 and a 510. Love em both!!

I'm getting away from the stock batteries. I have a Protege for my 510, and just picked up a DSE905. The DSE905 is a Chinese copy of the screwdriver. They come in 901, and have adapters to fit the 4081. It's cheaply made, but I thought I'd try it. Complete mod with two 14500 batteries and charger, 901 atty all for about $65.00. The 14500 batteries last me about 2 days on a charge. They have their own version of the Janty Stick too.

I'm getting ready to post an instructional sheet on how to build your own heavy duty Passthrough for about $5.00. It should be ready to post by tonight.

The V3 Janty stick version is made by Joye, the same company that makes the Janty Stick. This is a Janty Stick, just not customized with Janty's name on it.
I'm not to sure I would want one of these as they use the 10440 battery, which is a 3.6 volt. This is .1 volt less than the standard batteries.
I know, it doesn't sound like much, but if anyone has ever used one of the Passthroughs with the inline batteries, it most likey uses this same 10440. And it has been my experience that performance is reduced, still enjoyable, but a noticeable difference is there from my experience. But funny, I never realized it was the battery causing this reduction till I learned about the 10440 and did some comparisons with the same atty between the 10440 PT and a standard battery. But voltage drop from line loss also has to be taken into consideration as well. So I can't say for sure just how these would compare when used as a direct battery.

So what you are getting here is a step up from 280 mah standard penstyle battery, to a battery mod with a 360 mah battery at voltage slightly less than the standard.

Still, I have heard people rage about how great the Stick is, and how well it produces, but of course "Get what I got it's the best."

I personally can't say one way or the other, just stating what I know.

1/10th of a volt doesn't sound like much, but when you couple that with a lossy cable with very tiny wires, the voltage drops to even less by the time it reaches the working end as these tiny cable wires create added resistance.
I do however have the new 510 PT that has no inline battery and a much heavier cable for less line loss, and it performs as expected.
But I am also a 5 volt fan, and I don't get what I want from a typical 3.7 volt source anymore. I used to, but once I got used to using 5 volts, stepping back down does not offer me the performance I am now accustomed to.
I tried for awhile with the larger 280 mah 510 batteries, but to get what I achieve with 5 volts takes two to three times as long a drag to be comparable. I prefer to take a quick one to two second draw, than hit on it for 5 seconds or longer.
But this is just me, my wife on the other hand uses the standard batteries, but that is only because she doesn't like, as she puts it putting a flashlight in her mouth. LOL.
When at home and in private, she is always grabbing my flashlight.
