Take a razor to the SD Chargers, I'm all Cowboy here! Know what you mean about sharp razors, I bleed easily just thinking about it.

I do use my smart charger when I'm goin to bed and want a batt charged up in tha AM. I still don't trust my batts all night on my dumb charger. Not that I think it will explode but... that it may not be good for the batt.

I think you batteries have a PCB chip(smart charging) built in to them Joe.
Just like cell phones, the charger is just a power supply. The smarts are in the phone. Are you as concerned about your cell phone? They also use Lithium Ion batteries. Be careful you phone may explode in your pocket, or in your ear. JK.

If I recall correctly, there has been recalls on cell phone and laptop batteries for blowing up, or burning up.

I don't like to take chances and let my batts charge all night even though I know it's probably safe to do so. There have been some instances when I have forgotten and I count my lucky stars, just hate to take chances when there's no need to.

Jcamacho, Don't get me wrong. Just pointing out the fact that Li-Ions are used in more than just e-cigs. And you never hear of people being worried about their laptops or cell phones, though both have been known for defective batteries.

Always err on the side of caution, regardless of the kind of charger being used. If at all possible use a GFCI protected outlet, and place your battery or device on a fireproof surface.

I understand Royal, I'm just the type of person that has to make sure the coffee pot is unplugged and the iron wasn't left on before I leave the house. I have been known to drive back 20 miles just to check this because I couldn't remember if the coffee pot was unplugged even though it has a safety shut-off, go figger.

Soooo... I'm not tha only one w/ a memory prob. I once knew the first signs of Alzheimer's but.... now I forgot what they are. :~)

I did leave two batts on the dumb chargers all nite. Now one gets to much air, and the other gets to little. I think it fried their brain. :~(
