Never a good idea, protection circuits could fail. Also make it a practice to place your chargers on something that can't catch on fire, and keep other flammables away. Best to be safe than sorry. Look at what they are putting in to analogs these days, to make them go out quickly. All because a few idiots fells asleep with a lit cigarette and burned their house down. Just waiting for someone to burn their house down because an e-cig battery blew up.
I heard Robert had his battery mod, appropriately called the "Detonator" blow up on him while in his pants pocket. He was using unprotected CR2s, and got a real nasty burn on his leg. Lucky that is all that got burned. I wonder where he was when that happened and if he had to strip in public.
