Like Royal said earlier ,take the connector off of an old atty to make an adapter ,I did that with 801 batteries and a cell phone charger until I blew one up.It was not as good of an explosion as you might think from all the histeria but it was not sealed in a pipe bomb either,it just kinda snapped and smelled bad.I had a lot of stock auto batteries with bad switches at one time I later found out caused by high bridge 801 atties,Being the tightwad I am I fixed it where I could use the battery sans switch on a homemade passthrough.

I have no old addy's... I'm a newbe.

I still think a "smart charger" for Lithium bats is a good idea. Now to find one that works w/ your brand of ecig.

A bit off topic but has anyone tried to fly commercially w/ an ecig and extra bats?

Don't worry about it Papa. I fly 2 to 4 times a week. I'm in Minnisota right now. E-Cigs are not illegal, so the TSA doesn't care about them. Just keep them neatly in some sort of case. Scattered wires in your bag will look suspecious, and you'll get delayed while they check.

I carry my DSE-905, Box Mod, and 4081 passthrough, extra attys, batteries, and all the assorted chargers. You'll need to put your juice in the famous baggie for the x-ray. I carry 2 30ml bottles in my carry-on, and my e-cigs in my computer case. I've been carrying them for over a year now, and they've never been questioned.

They're mostly banned from use during flight, but if you get a craving, go to the crapper and take a few hits. Just blow the vapor toward the floor, and it won't bother the smoke alarm.

I was worried that some kinda regs concerning the bats would be a prob.

PTJD will throw in his 2cents soon. He's a traveler too. Nothing to worry about.

We have a Travel section here. It's been sort of dead lately, but it's there for travel discussions, (FYI)

Jim, good idea to have a section about traveling w/ the ecigs. I can't find it though. The closest thing I see is about using them in public.

Back to the chargers... I got an email back from batteryjunction wanting a model # for my 401/2 bats. Anyone know a model #? I gave them the 3.7v 200 amh specks. That was good enough for the other battery co. and they had a smart charger that would work but... they said I would have to modify their charger to fit the connectors on my bats.

I have never heard of a stock ecigg battery exploding, the only ones I have heard about exploding were unprotected cells in series, the cell on the m401/2 is built into a housing and it is an OEM cell ,I doubt you will be able to give them any info other than voltage and mAh.You could get creative and make a jig to clamp the battery in that has a contact to press against the center contact and an aligator clip for the threads.I really don't see where you will be gaining anything. The Chinese engineers who create these kits are way more inteligent than we seem to be giving them credit for. When used properly you will have less trouble and get more vaping pleasure from a stock ecigg kit with less hassle and less money spent. It is inevitable that all eciggs will malfunction after a time ,I feel less bad about having something I paid $20.00 go bad than something I paid $100.00 for.But that is me.

I know they make "smart chargers" that will stop charging when the battery is charged but... how to find the right one for the m401 is something I can't figure out. I know it is a 3.7v 200 amh but???

I see some portable PCC chargers at the cig web sites that claim to be smart but I am not sure that is the best thing. And... if someone got one of those for a m401 would it also work on a 402 battery?

Hey, these things won't work if you can't keep tha batteries charged. :~)

Thanks for all help and advice.

With the real Smore M401 all the electronics are in the battery. It decides when to shut off the current. The batts themselves will come off the 'charger' (when the green light comes on ) at about 3.1V. The charger itself is basically a power supply, like a cell phone 'charger'. The official passthrough runs a little hotter @ 3.4V.
