I recently went to the splendid UK Vapefest in Tamworth. As part of the event various raffles and draws were held and in of one of these, I won a FistPack.
The FistPack in question is a 510 fitting LR version and was donated to the Vapefest by Cat. Nuck tells me it is the ONLY LR FistPack sold to the UK so far and proved this by telling me it was blue! (He didn't tell me who he sold it to though...)
Here it is, fitted with a 510-901 adapter and a "regular" 4075 atomiser from TECC:
(It shows slight signs of wear, but Cat says she didn't make much use of it, and it's in good condition)
Note the activation button which is situated at the atomiser end of the device:
The FistPack has three "things" down the side, from top to bottom they are:
1 A four position switch for changing the voltage - Nuck tells me the LR version ranges from around 3.7v to 4.2v
2 A USB socket for charging and use as a passthrough (you can use it as a passthrough whilst charging)
3 A button to press which will light up LEDS on the base to show the battery state:
(It's showing three out of four lights, so nearly fully charged)
So what's it like?
Well, it works! When I first got it i didn't have any 510 kit with me so Rusty kindly gave me a 510LR atomiser (1.5ohm). I don't like 510 atomisers, I find them particularly flavourless, so I just tried the device out and didn't make any judgements. This atomiser (and later another 1.5ohm 510 of my own) died pretty rapidly - I suspect because of my cavalier use of the top voltage setting.
When I got back (and blew the second LR510 mentioned above) I fitted a Liberty Flights 1.7ohm LR901 and gave the FistPack a good workout with that. With the juice I was using 30mg OK Smokey Old Holburn "Roll your own" tobacco flavour, I found the lowest voltage setting gave the best mix of flavour and hit - in fact it tasted just like it does in my Screwdriver Mk1 with a fresh battery.
I had some juice samples to review (18mg strength) so I fitted a regular TECC 4075 atomiser to use for that. With the tobacco flavours I found the highest setting the best as it boosted the hit with this (for me) weak juice. However with the fruit flavours I found the lowest setting best as it let the most detail of the flavours through.
I've been using the FistPack in parallel with my Screwdriver and have found the battery life to be remarkable. Nuck reckons a full charge would get you through 4-5ml of juice - I suspect thus far I'm getting even more than that (possibly because I'm NOT using 510 atomisers?).
My conclusion so far: I think the FistPack will be great for travelling - the charge and passthrough features simplify things - and it certainly has amazing battery life compared to my Screwdriver and Super Six. The variable feature? Well, when not reviewing, I tend to stick to tobacco flavours at 24-38mg strength and generally use an LR901 (1.7ohm) so I wouldn't be adjusting the settings... But for reviewing different juices and trying out other types of atomisers and cartos (I have lots of 510 to whatever adapters now) I think the variable feature will be a great asset...
A great feature is the regulated voltage which gives a consistent vape at the chosen setting.
The FistPack is excellently made but very costly - I'm not sure I would have bought one with my own money! Also it will need to be returned to base when the battery dies - a bit of a pain - but then Nuck tells me he's not had one die yet and at my rate of use I should be good for the best part of two years... (And I have other devices)
So, a good bit of kit with some useful features, if you can stand the price it seems a worthwhile purchase.
