My first recipe (menthol)

Well the goods arrived in the mail and I created my first recipe.

4.5 mls PG based tobacco @ 24mg (Northern Vapour)
1.5 mls VG
20 drops Flavourart arctic menthol

6.6 mls at 18 mgs

ratio 75/25 PG/VG then add flavouring. Tastes a little lighter than Cameo but stronger than Craven Menthols. It has a decent throat hit, cool refreshing with good vapour. I nice cool lingering feeling like a menthol should, not a peppermint/candy taste.

I think I am going to enjoy this vaping business

Thanks for the heads up Jim. I will ahve to give those a whirl one of these days. Couldn't get my hands on any this side of the border.

I have tried all kinds of menthols over the years. This recipe is the closest to Canadian Menthols as I could remember, and a more than welcomed addition to my vaping experience considering what is out there for "menthols", everybody says close but...

Now American made menthols are a lot more complex, because of their base tobacco. My favourites were Kool. They also have quite a bit of menthol in them.

Question

How do you mix your crystals and to what ratio?

I can see myself going that route because just to keep me in Flavourart flavouring is going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I mix about 1/8 oz crystals with 60ml alcohol to make the Menthol liquid. Then add to your e-juice to taste. Mine is about 5ml to a 30ml bottle. I use Jim Beam Bourbon for the menthol base. It gives my juice a nice flavor.

I was gonna say that is a lot of menthol for a 30ml bottle, then checked my recipe. My recipe looks like 0.65 mls for 6mls which translates to 5 mls to a 30 mil bottle. I believe this is the only way to go because I can immediately see Flavour art is going to cost me an arm and a leg in the long run.

That was an "off the top of my head" guess. I usually end up adding a bit more. I like it strong. When I vape first thing in the morning, it kicks like a mule, but then gets weaker feeling later in the day.
