Boy some people ,vaping addresses all the reasons why smoking should be outlawed and still that is not good enough.I think these are some really unhappy people and they cannot stand seeing anyone have a little enjoyment from life.I guess it is easier for them to pick on us than to address jobs, hunger ,and homelessness.
Even though here in Canada we've not yet had to deal with this type of escalated "control" without just cause (except for the underage purchasing/availability of these devices which I believe to be an expected and worthy request), I can't help but shake my head at the ignorance of those who both have imposed these "laws" and those with the ignorance to follow like sheep and support the decisions being made with such a narrow minded approach.
This is nothing more than a "control over others" game, regardless of what factors, devices, or subjects they're trying to overpower, added on top of a marketing ploy by those with vested interest and huge wallets in this particular market.
The part that gets me the most is that I can almost assuredly guaranty that any one of these "individuals", who claim to be doing this for the "general good of mankind", are the same people driving around in un-maintained vehicles that spew unnecessary toxins into the air, wear an abundance of perfumes, hairsprays, or colognes that offend and/or add to the health risks of those who are highly reactive to or offended by the odors or chemical contents, that drive in disregard to common courtesy and sense putting many on roadways in potential harms way, make everyday decisions that are in jeopardy of offending or harming others due to their actions, and/or just being part of the mob rules group who just can't seem to make it through an already difficult lifetime without being part of a "clan" of unhappy overbearing people in attempts to justify their small existence on this earth.
On one hand its surely a shame that we must feel criminalized by going against the public in charge by active numbers decisions (tribal law), but on the other hand there's not a hope in hell that ANYONE will govern MY life by restricting what common sense and self research has proven better for ME with the information I have available to date !!
As far as the personal vaporizer, there has now been so much information (especially, and I personal thank them for it, with what the modder's have done), that outright bans on the products necessary to continue with this venture are impossible to stop at this point in the game.
Whether that means modding oneself, personal nicotine extraction, buying pieces from overseas (if not available local), there is NOTHING that can be done to stop this new found alternative. Even if it were to mean purchasing blackmarket to self preserve my decision to move forward with Personal Awareness & Choice.

So Greg you were a little vague but I beleive I detected you were not in favor of goverenment intervention on the matter of personal vaporizers,if so I agree whole heartedly with you I think.
Now that I read it again it just looks like a mild rant to me....... Pain killers are my friend at the moment, and it appears to interfere with getting whats in my head out properly through my finger tips.
But YES, I'm totally against personal control measures by any group, faculty, or legal entity, when it is effected by an obvious minority who've managed to be the lucky first ones to get the ear of the news groups and story makers to voice their negative and inconclusive propaganda in this case.
But, I feel that way about everything and anything that is decided by someone else to not be socially acceptable because "THEY say so", when it is not infringing on the defined and reasonable rights of others, and when it does not affect an average person in any way, shape, or form.
I'm probably going to regret posting again while "under the influence" for post surgery reasons, but I guess I'll see if THAT made any sense at all in the morning, lol.... All I can say at this moment, is thank the stars for spell check !!
I know a lot of folks don't agree with me, but I still think we're being squashed partially by the attitude of many vapers. This is a brand new concept, and a lot of vapers are trying to see how far they can go.
Blowing vapor in strangers faces, vaping in department stores, vaping at gas stations, vaping in businesses without the owners permission, etc, and walking around with the "you can't touch me" attitude.
This is not the time to be doing things like this. Although, I'll continue to fight, I honestly don't think we will win in the end. I'm still stocking, and reviewing designs for stealth vaping devices. I'll be posting these devices as I develop them.
I agree with you Jim.
Flaunting it in public is just asking for more trouble.
We can't change the publics view over night, smokers have been getting a bad rap for too many years now, and though some are quick to judge in one way, in other ways they can be stubborn as a mule to accept a change that is for the better good.
To put it in another analogy, It is like throwing a frog in a pot of boiling water, he will just jump right out. But if you put him in and then slowly turn up the heat, he will sit there and cook to death.
You have to allow time for acceptance.
This is what the government has been doing to us for years, only now that people are just realizing this, as the water is reaching a boiling point, It is getting too hot to jump out.

How do you ban something that is almost exclusivly sold over the internet? You can make it illegal but it seems you could not enforce it.The parcel services for the most part do not know what is in the box.Would a ban be on the actual product that makes the vapor ?Which would be the liquid, the vaporizor is just an electrical device.
I think New Jersey is just restricting where they can be used, and only banned the sale to minors, which is the way it should be, and is already practiced by most if not all merchants anyway.
