Online merchant account companies are a dime a dozen. There are too many companies that offer these services to list. Many webhosting companies even offer this type of service directly through them, and for free if you have the right hosting plan. It is paypal's loss here, they are not the only player on the court.

What gets me is that if I understand it correctly, Paypal is an owned subsidiary of Ebay. So why can I still find e-cigs for sale on Ebay?
I just did a search on Ebay and though I used to could find many listings, this time I only found one. eBay Store - Electronic Cigarette and Refills: Apparently they sell health e-cigarettes brand. This is a name that I do not agree with. IMO the name of the brand is in itself making a claim that could cause repercussions from the FDA.
I also noticed at the bottom of thier order page, they have a founding member of the ECA badge. Hmmm, makes me wonder?

The merchants similar to PayPal may be numerous, but we consumers seem to be stuck with PayPal.
A recent inquiry to them re why PayPal is no longer handling payments for electronic cigarettes resulted in the following answer: ..."to maintain balance between providing for diverse needs and minimize financial risks..." They also said they have an "acceptable use policy to identify prohibited products and services." Since the FDA has not yet prohibited e-cigs, I can only assume that the non-elected, non-appointed, private non-smoking group, ASH, intimidated them with their official, government-looking letter stating that these products were illegal and threatening to sue PayPal if it continued handling payments for these products. What a country! 'Ya gotta love it!

and that is where groups like ECA and others counter should counter sue for breech of contract but E-cigs are banned for sale in some areas of the world just not importation yet

Paypal has been somewhat unique in it's field, and what is needed here is competition. I foresee this competition as being inevitable, and will happen most likely sooner than later.

Paypal could have dominated their playing field in much the same way Microsoft has, but they blew it.

I think PayPal which I beleive is owned by Ebay is in trouble any way,they have stockholders to account to .The original idea for individuals to offload stuff was good but now it is just a way to sell import stuff and not pay taxes ,wages and overhead.There are a lot better options these days .I know I used spend several hundred dollars a month on computer parts now I only use it as a tool to price things for yardsales don't even remember my account numbers.
