Atomizer maintenence

I soak my atomizers in really hot water from my coffe maker once a week then blow them out and allow them to dry over night.I have a Joye302 atty that is over two months old and going strong.I killed a DSE801 atty by poking around at it with a toothpick,It sucked anyway it was one of the high bridge ones and it only worked if you drip or refilled your cart every three or four puffs.I beleive the high bridge is what killed my batteries x3 I think when you fill the cart and push it into the atty the high bridge squeezes half the juice out of the packing giving you a few good hits but I think it runs into the battery eventually gumming it up.Some people say soaking atty's in cola helps because of the acid ,probably won't hurt just rinse well and let dry.Vinegar might work but could leave a taste for a while.I always wipe the condensation off of the cart whenever I refill ,prevents getting juice in the mouth Frown

i used 190 proof everclear soaks did wonders for taste and made my atty last a long time. down side is if there is a scratch in the paint it can remove it.

I usually soak mine in 100% isopropyl alcohol for 24 to 48 hours. I think you can only get 70% from the stores.
I have tried combinations of iso alcohol and distilled white vinegar as well. Then if they are still gummed up I give them two or three minute boil in a water and citric acid bath. I use about two table spoons of powdered citric acid in the bath with only about an inch or two of water in the pot. If after all this, they are still gunked up, I go to the super heating method and rinse again.

Yes, but I'd only consider this as a last resort.

I soaked my atty's in denture tabs (don't have dentures yet-I read about this method on ecf). Then I rinse 'em well & use hubby's air compressor to blow them out.
I also pick 2 to use for the day. 1 for my marlboro the other for flavs. I let my others drain on a paper towel while not in use. I am trying to keep dedicated ones for flavs as some of them linger a long time.

Just be careful using compressed air on 510 attys. They have an exposed wick under the bridge and too much air will blow this wick out of the atty. If this happens, it will still work but won't wick up from the cup like it did. I learned the hard way.

when i first had the dura i took that out better for dripping anyway.

I took it out thinking it was fiber from the cartridge. It still worked but was a real pain as I had to make sure I got the juice directly on the bridge/coil. And it gurgled all the time after that, something I never had it do before. I could clear the gurgling by taking the atomizer off and blowing it out, but I felt I was wasting a lot of juice so I just retired that atty for a new one.
