The dry burn really seems to be the ticket.If that is burnt sugar which I suspect it is from the flavoring it would be carbon ,and not a lot of things will dissolve carbon.

Usually, if mine need a dryout, I'll just set them bridge down on a paper towel. I tried only one dry burn, and the coil popped.

There were some really informative posts here, guys, ty for all the tips & suggestions. I'm a newb to the world of vaping so I'm researching all I can to get the most out of my new addiction/hobby- this beats the hell out of smoking!
I used a little too much of the lavender e-liquid & it tainted the atty. I tried hot water soak a couple of times, then diet coke soak; neither worked. I thought I'd have to replace the atty but then I tried vinegar and then dripped brandy e-liquid directly on the atty & that worked.

No one really knows the best way to clean an atomizer. Just don't use something that is harmful to inhale. Personally, if mine need a clean, I soak them in Grain Alcohol (Everclear) It works for me every time. But I only do it if they clog. I never touch them otherwise.

All else aside, My main theory is;
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Royal mentioned that the wick came out of a 510 atty from using compressed air. I removed a small strand of what looked like a thread from a nylon rope from my Be112 attys. They were outside of the bridge and stuck to the inner wall of the atty when removed. It sure was not the filler material. I have used compressed air on these attys. Did I blow out the wick? The thread was about 1/2" long and was burned on one end. When cleaned of liquid they were bright white. They work fine, but I only drip with them so I don't know how they wick with carts.

These fibres help wick the excess liquid back up to the atty.

Yes they will still work without it.

I might add a bit of prevention goes a long way. Don't try to get the very last puff out of your carts, top off as soon as vapor starts to drop.

I have been using everclear/grain alcohol to clean mine when they get clogged lately. I have let them soak overnight, then just blew out the alcohol by mouth and dripped a few drops of nicquid back in to the atty and away it went.
There was no need in letting it dry out, as the grain alcohol readily mixed with the e-liquid and also produced some vapor.

I just hate wasting perfectly good shine.
After a few drags, they come back to life, like new again.

Plugged up is not what gives me fits ,it is when the element gets a carbon casing around it .The atty will get hot and the outside will get very hot but the liquid does not get hot enough to vaporize.
