I guess it all boils down to personal choice (yet again, lol)......

I use the MarineLand brand on 510 atty's (both 3.7v and 5v), and haven't had any issue with melting, discoloration, or off taste. And the same requirement of keeping it wet is a necessity in use.

I'm finding as long as your keeping it clean (by washing every couple of days) that I have no issues at all with it wicking properly until the juice is all used up.

It does go without saying, that before initial use the material should be well washed with water and a little soap then rinsed very well and dab dried.

What can I say..... I like it..... a lot !

maybe if I ever use the box of Fluval I might try some.

I have enough of the fluval stuff to fill thousand of carts. Since I mainly drip now, It will last me many years. The trick is using just the right amount of filler. Too much and it won't release, too little and it won't hold it.

My only issue with past use of the fluval and cotton/poly was with "hairs" sticking to the bridge and atty (which I don't experience with the blue foam), which at 5v was darn nasty, lol..........

I not pushing its use.... just that its my preference now in comparison, and giving my view in light of ongoing discussion.

Hey, Greg, I am never close minded to new innovative ideas. I am one who will try something new just to see if it works. I may pick some up just for the heck of it, even though I like to go commando.

Who knows, it may be to my liking.
