Or you can just go all redneck and look for more power.I just built this mod because a switch would fit in a 3/4 copper pipe and I was tired of box mods.I am into 3.7 to 4 volts and lotsa mAh's for my battery jobs .I still like the Kissbox passthrough for my main sled.

... and then there is always those that feel the need to look/sound important.

When I stated I viewed this similar head spinning in certain threads, I did not mean here. But I have seen some pretty long winded dissertations wrt this or that, only to finish with, or you can always go by...

In this particular case 1hr/100mah, which is IMHO close enough for government work.

Just for clarification, you used the copper piping as your conductor for the negative, correct?

Yes. Or if you flip the battery around it is now the positive. The atty is not polarized, it will work either way.

I actually ran a ground wire to mine ,just wanted to make sure all those mAh's got where I can flog them properly.I used a peice of the battery tube to make sure the atty would have clearance as I used an 801 connecter, that makes for a lot of press connections.

very nice and looks easy to make. i just spent all day looking for a torch to fit my 18650 but the 3xaa torches are bigger than needed so i was also thinking tube but wanted chrome till i though about the end cap connection. a couple of thoughts. when i make mine it will be with hot glue gun. drying time 4 seconds also thinking cut a short piece of thick plastic tube and cut a piece out making it a wide c clip in effect. shove that in the atty end the cutout will miss the switch and will give you something to secure you pos end onto add a tiny amount of of hot gun glue on the battery side and the whole lot is never moving.

That's odd, the majority of the inexpensive flashlights are too short to comfortably get an 18650 in them + switch + connector. But work fine with an 18500.

Hot glue is pretty worthless IMO. The atty connector gets hot enough to loosen it, and in box mods (or any not completely sealed device) any eliquid will quickly break it's bond.

I couldn't find anything to fit an 18650 but the copper pipe.Had a heck of a time finding something to fit 14650's ,ended up using a 2xAA flashlight and shortening it.I have pretty much setteled on 14500's and 2XAA battery boxes as my main sled these days.I got some 510's and 801's already built and just need to get some more micro switches for a couple of 901's.I have adapters for the 801's but I have to clean the connections all the time.I have 8 14500 batteries and two chargers so I am good to go.I use super glue for mine ,ready to go in a flash,I make sure I have a tight fit on the atty connecter and my micro switches have plenty of surface area for the super glue to stick to.

ah well thats because i meant too wide not too long so i guess that is a no go then. i dont want a wider tube than i need as the 18650 are big enough. was going to get the 14500 but they didnt have any where i went so i should have went with them damn. i really didnt realise the connecter would get so hot maybe silicone instead. got all my bits ordered ie switch and LR boge cartomisers and prewired connector. doing the end will be a headache as i need to open it every time to charge the battery i think i will have to keep looking or go with the copper. i wont be going down the box route as i want to take it out with me. thanks for all the advice

Well I think HomeDepot has these again in a multi-pack. The one on the left.

I coulda got an 18650 in there, but I like these switches and wanted a recessed juice well to handle my leaky eGo Mega atties.

As it stands it takes an 18500. Never understood the fascination with little tact switches.
