hmmm, I typically only use my Prodigy which I can run at either 5 volts or 6. I can use either 801 penstyle attys or 510s or 901s on it and have found that my attys actually have been lasting longer, it maybe that the higher voltage is producing just enough heat to keep the gunk burned off. Not sure why.
I hardly ever have any burned or melted filler, but I always keep mine topped off and never wait till it is dry to do so. My favorite is my 510 attys on the prodigy as the vapor seems dryer, more like real smoke, but I use the penstyle while on the road for the bigger cart so I don't have to refill as often. The vapor producation is huge compared to standard voltage.

for a while I tried two batteries in parallel and I recharged them with a cell phone charger it seemed to hit bigger due to higher amperage, but I left on charger too long and blew up one of the batteries .so I started putting the regular connecters on so I could use the charger that came in kits.I put a pic of my homemade usb passthrough in an album in community if you are interested.I will look into the prodigy if it works with 801 atty's

the Prodigy is quite pricey is it something you would buy knowing what you know now?

Given the fact that it is the only device I now use, Yes.

The only thing to be careful with while using an 801 on the prodigy is not to overtighten. Unless there has been an improvement in the design since I bought mine. (I was one of the first to have one.)
If you are not careful you can overtighten it and damage the atty. Just run it down until it makes contact, then give it no more than a quarter turn to snug it. It may seem loose like this, but it is fine as it will not snug tight like on a factory battery.
With the 901 and 510 adaptors I have found that this is not a problem. IMO the 510 gives the best fit.
I am vaping on the Prodigy with an 801 atty while I type this.
The other draw back is the tactile switch. I have gone through two of them, and am now back on my modified switch, one that I replaced with a heavy duty 2 amp radio shack SPSP momentary. For only a couple of dollars I made my switch to last, though it is not as aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, it works every time. I am currently using the resistor to reduce the voltage to 5 volts, but am seriously considering removing it for full 6 volt operation. I love the way the 801 hits on 6 volts, but I have not yet tried the 510 this way. I am also trying to figure out how to put in an on off switch to bypass the inline resistor so I can switch back and forth from 5 to 6 volts easily. The only problem is finding the room for the additional switch.

hmm ,I may just stick with Kissbox stuff ,the manual switch for it is really solid.I have the auto switch but have never used it yet the manual is so good.I would like to get a Kissbox charger and a couple more batteries for when my 801 batteries go but Janty is seeming to have a restocking problem.I bought one battery when I bought the pass through and switches thinking I needed it for the passthrough but it is different and the pass through had a battery with it.Might get a powered usb hub and get the home made passthrough back out for higher voltage experiments.

These things are not designed to last a long time anyway.
One who e-smokes should consider them all as a disposable item. Besides, the cost of a new atty is only about $10, barely the cost of two packs of cigarettes. If you get a week or two out of an atty, then I would consider that cost effective. I usually order at least 10 at a time.
I have never tried the joye 302/kissbox atty, but if they hold up half as well as the 510s I would be very pleased. I am thinking of ordering some in the next few days. IMO the key to atty life is keeping it wet and proper cleaning. A lot of people let theirs drain over night, I never have. Not saying this is good or bad.

The Joye 302/Kissbox atty's Electronicstix sells are awesome they last a long time and you can go on a cart a whole lot longer without topping off every three or four puffs like the DSE's .I have not been at this for long but I still have to beleive that if a person finds the right hardware it should last for longer than a few weeks.I have noticed with heating and A/C products asian people spend a whole lot more for hardware and repairs than Americans would find acceptable.I look at cost effectiveness on any purchase I make and I think the vaping is coming into line now that I am becoming familiar with whats out there.I am homing in on the most reliable hardware and still looking for the liquid that meets my needs.

I wholeheartedly agree. I may go ahead and place an order with Jason for a few 302 attys to use on my mods.
Not that I really need anymore.

well I got bored today and dug through a box of AC adapters and found an Intel 5V dc 1.5 amp one.I think it was for a router ,but I hooked it up to my home made usb passthrough and it really puts out the vapor now.I just skip the usb and go right into the wall.No fire yet.

5 volts may be a bit too much ,vapor gets hot and stings throat if I over do it.Royal what kind resistor would I use to get it down a bit maybe 4 volts?
