The drawback here is not knowing what your voltage actually is, unless you put a volt meter on it. Of course the concept here is to hit your sweet spot, by taste and production, regardless of output.
Since it is variable resistance and not fixed, I have a feeling people will be tweaking the pot so much, and with it only rated at 2 amps, if say a Joye 510 atty was used, the contacts on the pot may wear out prematurely.
To give those the idea of what a potentiometer is and what it does, just think of the volume control knob on a radio, this is a potentiometer.
I believe in the K.I.S.S. method myself. And prefer to use either batteries rated for my preferred output, or with a properly rated fixed resistor.
If anyone wanted to make their own it would be real easy to add a pot to a box mod which would have plenty of room for a potentiometer with a proper rating of say 3 amps.
Another method that would work well, would be to use a coiled resistor, then tap the coil at pre determined resistances and use a multi switch to choose your desired tapped voltage output.

I think it has a voltage regulator IC chip and the trimmer adjust that.I just like to make a note when ever I see something different as most of what is out there is more of the same.
The " BUZZ " comes stock with a 901 connector , use the 901-510 adapter or the 901-801 adapter for other atomizer styles. Suggested batteries are 2 x 16340 3.7volt , 2 x cr123 3.0 volt ( lowers max. voltage ) , Protected batteries are NOT necessary with the BUZZ the protection is built into the device. we do not sell batteries at this time. Always use a quality charger and the correct charger for the battery type you are using , Notcigs assumes NO responsibility for misuse of batteries or chargers
Specifications: 1. Continuously regulated variable voltage from 3.6vdc to 6.0vdc , screwdriver adjustable , (Full battery charge for 6.0v) 2. Adjustable “SWEET SPOT” by variable voltage, Adjust for different atomizers resistance., loaded voltage is the same as unloaded voltage. 3. Current Limited 2amp, Reverse battery protection, reverse current limited , Thermal limiting. 4. 12 turn adjustment 5. Adaptors: 901 , 801 ( use adaptor for 510 atty ) 6. Material: Anodized 6061 aircraft quality Aluminum body and end cap with vent hole , brass Adaptor 7. Switch: C&K 1,000,000 cycles 8. Led ON indicator , color blue ,red ,green ,yellow ,orange 9. Batteries Used : RCR123a (3.7v) X 2 each ( only use protected version) 10. Drip reservoir around adaptor , sealed with optional O-ring 11. Sealed PC Board 12. Available colors : Black 13. Warranty 6 months on parts and labor 14. Low battery indicator
Before anyone jumps on this band wagon, I would highly recommend allowing someone else to test drive these and keep your ear to the ground. There has been a lot of controversy wrt the Buzzkill, I am not sure what to make of it amidst all the BS. I've seen the video on how it was built.
The long and the short nothing new, people stealing ideas from one another etc... his second unit is another combination of others ideas as well. But I do like 'em both. If I went with something it would be the second one, which has a switch to select voltage, not as variable as a potentiometer, but variable voltage, through resistors.
The V2 is a concept Ecig that includes EVERYTHING
1. Variable Power/voltage
2. Internal juice supply with manual dispensing knob
3. internal rechargeable batteries.
4. 7.4 volt batteries
5. remote charger ( like a cell phone )
6. Led indicator ( changes brightness with voltage setting )
7. On/Off switch 8. Low battery indicator
I hope when my FistPak gets here next week that ITS THE LAST DAMN THING I BUY !! (or should I say.... my wife hopes so, lol).

Now that's a good investment, but I think Nuck has a version of the VVPV coming out soon. BTW that's just a guess.
Me I'm officially done. It adds up in a hurry (did it ever). I blew my cig budget for the year. Mind you I don't need to spend any more neither, just control myself, as I am prepared for a very long siege.
