Whats a mod :D

a mod is a modification of anything to have it do something other then what was intended. thats why we call them mods.

in are case it is changing a flashlight into a 510 personal vaporizer.
it is taking a laser pointer and making a E-cig

however it is not simply buying it has a e-cig to using it has such.

you could modify it but it will always basically still be a e-cig.

At least in my humble option

So if I buy a battery box from RadioShack and make an ecigg its a mod but if I buy a boxmod from someone it is an ecigg.

Right

I recently bought a 5 volt box mod almost identical to yours. It's hard to believe it's just 5 volt because it hits extremely hard. Does yours do that?

Not particularly, but I don't use a stock 510 atty on it. I use one of my LS2s @ 3.3 Ohms, seems to tone it down a bit perhaps. On the other hand, the LS2s were not really performing even on my PT, but they are now.

I am also not fond of the 801, but that works good on it, ya might want to give that a whirl.
