Here is the 411 on the resistor thing.I went out to Radio Shack and bought a 0.47 ohm 5 watt reistor 271-0130 as it was as close to 0.50 ohms as they had I also bought a 1 ohm 1o watt resistor 271-0131 .First I hooked the 1 ohm one up on a 510 clone that measured 3.8 ohms ,with no load I measured 5.15 volts and with the 1 ohm resistor I measured 3.54 volts under load ,with the 0.47 ohm resistor I measured 3.91 volts under load.So I soldered the 0.47 ohm resistor inline on my homemade PT and I think it really improved things, just like having a fresh battery all the time.I also built the box mod in Jim Davis's picture only without the audio connecter .Very easy just follow the directions for the passthrough just leave the battery connectors in one side.I would reccomend using a 510 or 901 atty though I used a 302 and the AAA box was a very tight fit for the atty connecter.Sorry I couldn't take any pix as my son has my camera.
