If you are really going to do this you need to for now forget about battery power ,you can use what you have for mobile vaping .Just for starters concentrate on a unit to use at home ,plugged into the wall.Then it would not hurt to be in standby mode up to temp. and cycling on a thermostat.Then all you would need is a way to drip or spray liquid when you needed to get a hit.It would draw less power than a night light and could be turned off for extended inactive periods.My coffee pot is always keeping enough water hot for a pot of coffee.Then as you gain some mastery you could start downsizing and lowering power consumption .I think the current design came about because the Chinese engineers did not think it would fly if it didn't look like a ciggerette.
