I'm working on trying to figure out how I can make replaceable coils in my existing atty bodies. Nichrome wire is easily obtainable, and if the atty bodies are saved, I think it would be worth the effort. Remove the bridge, pull out the burnt coil, and replace the coil much like a Mag Lite bulb.
