I also agree.
The only one I ever bought, I paid way too much for. $149.00 at the time.
It came with a 15 cent tactile switch. I priced them online, $15.00 for a bag of 100 of them, they were the exact same tactile switch, which is rated for only 50 milliamps, hardly enough to handle 2 amps of current.
The tactile switch lasted all of two weeks, if that long. It also had a resistor to cut the voltage from 6 to 5. The resistor used was proper for this purpose, but the unit had bad/cold solder joints and the resistor was mounted in a way that it eventually shorted out against the wall of the battery mod body. So what I got for $149.00 was an aluminum tube with an adaptor.

I went down to Radio shack and spent two dollars for a switch of proper amp rating, dremelled out the switch body mount so the new bigger switch would fit, replaced the resistor that had shorted out and now I have a 5 volt battery mod that has been working flawlessly for over 7 months.

IMO - Rushing a product to market that is not sufficiently designed and built to perform as it should, may make you some money now, but will kill a business in the future.

I am not going to mention what I do, or who I work for, but I will say that,

I have come to expect this same level of excellence in everything I buy, but I am sad to say, I seldom am satisified in this respect.
